Munich is famous for its beer. Before this city became world-famous, there was a lot of history to be told.
Beer halls, beer gardens, and cellars tell different chapters of our history. We speak about the competition between the church and the women brewing beer.
Yes, Halloween is part of the beer history, and this is not a joke.

DO IT! Fantastic Tour! - Paul gave my wife and I a FANTASTIC “beer and beer garden tour”, unlike any other we’ve had. Before the tour began he asked a little about our interests and what we had already seen, then custom-designed one especially for us. Unlike a standard “brewery” tour where you go into a bunch of breweries and taste their offerings, Paul told us the history of beer in Bavaria from 1040 A.D. to present, and related it’s development to Bavarian history. He then showed us where the breweries were located and culminated the tour in the Beer Museum, where he used his sommelier training to introduce us to an entirely NEW way of experiencing beer. We were skeptical at first of some of his ideas but trusted his experience and it truly opened our eyes to a whole new way to taste beer. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. Oh, and Paul being a super-friendly and humorous guy is icing on the cake!

Excellent time for education and fun! - This was not only fun to learn about the different types beer and food that compliments each type but Sybille was great! We enjoyed the museum tour especially showing the history of breweries and Oktoberfest but puts it all together in a small museum.

Great Beer and food tour - Our tour guide Martin was a great guide to the process and history of brewing at the major breweries in Munich. The tasting at Augustiner Brau was excellent And the full liter beer steins and delicious pork knuckle at the Hofbrauhaus capped off the evening. He engaged with my daughter and son with fun beer hall games at the table and an expanded on Bavarian Beer and food culture. Great tour!

Beer and Food Walking Tour in Munich - A very nice introduction to Munich and the city's beer culture! We visited several pubs and beer restaurants to get a feel for Bavarian beer. Very knowledgeable guide, Martin, who was able to answer all our questions.

Beer like you've never tasted before! - This was such a fun tour. First he greeted us with a gingerbread cookie that smelled phenomenal. Next, we went to the Beer Museum, not at all what I was anticipating. Paul taught us different ways to drink beer. I am not a drinker, but when he put the apple juice into the beer, it tasted completely different. Then he added water and it changed it again. The last thing was an espresso type addition. That I didn't care for at all, but I do not drink coffee. But I will try the apple juice with beer again! Following that he took us to another place, I think it's name was Atles Hackerhaus, where we enjoyed food (sausages, sauerkraut, or potato salad and apple streudel), and very interesting conversation. He paired us with other Americans and we had a lot in common with them. Paul is a great host and I highly recommend his tours! He also took us on a tour of the Nymphenburg Palace, which I reviewed separately. Awesome guide!!

Changed the way I will drink beer - Paul was great & very engaging. Both my 18 & 19 year old enjoyed it. He gave us the history of beer. He pointed out things I had walked by & never notice. My 18 year old said Paul “was funny, very engaging, energetic, & informative.” (It’s hard to impress my 18 year old). We tried the beer the regular way & Paul’s way. We are not big beer fans but we all liked it Paul’s way. He changed the way I will drink beer. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

We had so much fun!! - We had the best time! We did the tour with John who works with Paul. We had a tour with Paul earlier that day and had the best time ever. I want to brag on John though, and the tour we had with him. He was so incredibly hospitable, entertaining, filled with knowledge, great English, and over all a great guy. We sampled beer at a museum and learned a lot about the breweries, then went on to sample a great amount of food at another location. You should really do this tour and another tour that Paul has. My family (which there was seven of us) all agreed that if we had not done a tour with Paul and John then we would have missed a lot of history, architecture, and local culture. I highly suggest Paul and John for all your tours in Munich. You will not be disappointed!

Walking Tour Munich - We booked this tour and were met by Martin- who we thought was great! He was super knowledgeable and shared loads of info with us about the history of Munich, the churches and the beer houses. We had a great visit to the Oktoberfest museum with three small tasters of beer and a pretzel included. Plus Martin introduced us to some fun games whilst trying these! Thanks Martin for a lovely day! Worth noting that no other food is included in this tour as it is a little confusing in the description of the tour where it says Bavarian meal included and has an example menu in the description. We bought some extra bits at the market and did not get a Bavarian meal as that would have been extra too. It would be good to remove reference to a Bavarian meal from the tour overview completely.

Enjoy a beer and a pretzel in a Munich beer garden. - The 1 pretzel and 1 beer was good. We learned you can add apple juice to your beer. It was nice to see where the Oktoberfest takes place.
