ROTHENBURG IN 2024 - I did enjoy the castle and Rothenburg. If you have any kind of issues walking, this probably isn't the tour for you as there is a lot of walking uphill. We honestly could have used a better tour guide. Johnny didn't give us much information on the drive such as what towns we were going though, perhaps what crops they grow, etc. He was big on sitting at the front and visiting with the driver.

Cool town, definitely a tourist hot spot - The Harburg castle was a cool place to visit and see an actual castle that was used for defense for hundreds of years. The main part of this trip was the time in Rothenburg. The town itself is quite beautiful and well maintained. There are some neat views and cool buildings, but this is clearly a place designed as a tourist location.

Beautiful village-not enough time allotted to it. - Visiting Rothenburg is an amazing, however there is not enough time to adequately see the village. I would have preferred a much shorter stop at Harburg Castle.

Mediocre experience, would not recommend due to guide - The tour was okay, average at best. Our tour guide had some ideas about things he needed to show us in Rothenburg that were impossible due to the sheer size of the group. He wanted us all to walk with him through the town as a huge group and try to listen to what he had to say, then he tried to herd us all through some random small restaurant to see some goblet that has historical significance, but the logistics of this were ridiculous. We finally outright asked him when we had to be back to the bus and left the group, and had many people follow our lead who were also fed-up. He needs to give people an overview out in the parking lot including time and location to return to, and let us go free. He also wanted all 70+ of us to eat at this certain place. This all made zero sense. We only got maybe 2 hours to walk around the town, but it was a whole-day drive back and forth. Cut out the castle stop maybe? Also, when we got back to the bus, it was hot as fire inside because the driver has not turned on the bus and let it cool down, so very uncomfortable start to the trip back. The town was okay, but we wouldn't do this tour again.
