The day that flew by - Service was above and beyond. Great location. Extremely friendly and excellent wines. Ended up sitting for 6 hours drinking and talking with the staff. Thanks Stefan!

I highly recommend this... - I highly recommend this experience. Had an absolutely wonderful time visiting the winery and tasting the wines. Everyone I met was so warm and friendly and really made me feel welcome. I was picked up by Stefan and David and along the way, Stefan shared what was unique about the 3 villages we drove through on the way to the winery. Once we arrived at the winery, I was warmly welcomed. I sat inside due to the weather conditions. I was served a lovely cheese and charcuterie (locally smoked) board that went well with the wines. Tried a rakija, 2 white wines, 1 rose wine, 3 red wines, and a gin. Halfway through the tasting, Stefan (winemaker, not same person as who picked me up) walked me through the production process and happily answered all my questions. As Monastery Winery wines can only be found in 2 restaurants in Ohrid, I decided to pick up a bottle to take with me and it was fun to bottle and label it myself.

Tasty, insightful, great! - Incredible, tasty, authentic! I would 1000% recommend this experience. The wines and Rakija were incredible, but on top of that the whole experience was just really amazing. We learnt about the region, wine making, culture… and all of that while having plenty of fun! My recommendation from the heart: Support locals and support small businesses that are sustaining history and building what will be the future of the region! Worth it all the way!

A monastery winery? Yes please! - Conenient pick-up and drop-off from central Ohrid. Brilliant people who explained the process of producing wine and rakija. Explained in a non-technical and readily understandable way. Great hospitality.

We signed up for this... - We signed up for this tour while in Ohrid and it was phenominal. They picked us up from the city center and dropped us back off so we did not have to worry about driving or a taxi. Once we were there they showed us the wine making process and even let my wife try to place a wine label on a bottle and use the cork machine. But the best part was what followed, the wine tasting. We sampled 5-6 different wines and had a small charcuterie board to pair things with. The wines were all delicious and our host was very knowledgeable in the different blends and vintages. Once they found out we were also celebrating our honeymoon, they brought an extra glass for us to try and toasted with us.

Highlight of our trip - My partner and I had the pleasure of coming to explore North Macedonia for a very rainy week in early September. Two and a half months later, we are still talking about how special this experience was! Simon was extremely knowledgeable, very kind and we came away feeling enlightened and uplifted (not just because of the alcoholic content🥂). Being an ex-sommelier, I have tried some lovely wines but I can honestly say that Monastery winery produces some of the most beautifully balanced wines that I have ever had the joy of trying. Not to mention the beautiful setting, lovely dogs and very tasty charcuterie! We would recommend this tour to anyone who will listen and our only regret was travelling with hand luggage so that we couldn’t bring more home.

Such a pleasant way to spend a day - If you're visiting Ohrid the Monastery Winery is an absolute must. We loved it. The transport was quick and convenient, with a knowledgeable and lovely bloke who gave us some info on the local area as we traveled through. The Monastery itself is gorgeous and the owner gave us a fascinating tour through the winery, carefully explaining the stages of productions of various drinks, and patiently answering all our questions. The tasting session was absolutely delightful - the owner was really generous and the wines were delicious, fragrant and extremely drinkable. It was a completely unrushed, relaxing, and insightful day in a wonderful setting with lovely people. I could not recommend it more and we will definitely return

Wine tasting in Ohrid - It was absolutely amazing , from when we got picked up by Stefan ( who is a star ) we got to experience an absolutely outstanding wine and spirit tasting with really good wines and really good guide , really recommend this tour .

Highlight of our trip to North Macedonia! - My partner and I loved the wine tasting experience at Monastry Winery. Stefan gave us a very interesting tour explaining the unique process they use to produce their wines. We then sat in a beautiful dining room with amazing views of the vineyard and stream below, and the wines, cheese and meat platter were all delicious, and well-explained by the young hostess. This was definitely the highlight of our trip to North Macedonia!
