Not too long ago, visiting Albania was impossible due to its strict communist regime, earning it the nickname “North Korea” of Europe. However, the country is now free, offering a chance to observe the contrasts between its neighbors, North Macedonia and Albania.
Discover the remnants of the dictatorship that once governed Albania. A bus will take you to the city of Pogradec, where a guide will offer a brief city tour. You’ll also have the chance to enjoy lunch during your free time. Afterwards, the journey continues deeper into Albania with a visit to Lin. Engage in a short walk through the village and, optionally, explore the ancient Roman basilica and enjoy the panoramic views surrounding it.
An interesting note: While circling Lake Ohrid, notice how the water’s colors change as you drive.
