Staff rafting - Great day out. Grand crew, very helpful and fun. Water a bit low but still good time on the rapids. Saw a heap of blue duck and staff very informative.

Great day rafting the Rangitaiki River. - Right from the safety brief, through the rapids and back for the lunch, the team made it a great day. We can now say “we have rafted the Rangitaiki River…oh yeah”. Thanks for the experience.

Memories on the Rangitaki with River Rats - My partner and I enjoyed our experience with River Rats very much. Our guides Nev and Cam made us feel welcome, safe and we engaging the entire time. The rafting was exciting and thoroughly enjoyable. The mix bag of weather we experienced only made the experience more memorable.

Highly recommend this - Such an amazing trip! Our guide Zac skillfully led us on a white water adventure that exceeded all our expectations. Our two hour ride was split between traversing rapids and floating serenely along calm stretches. Really lovely. We would happily do it again.

Super Fun for 1st Timers! - We had a great time with River Rats on the Rangitaiki rafting excursion! All 4 of our party are retired, 3 taking our 1st rafting experience and loved it! Beautiful forest and river views throughout and plenty of whitewater fun ably guided by Zak. Would go again without hesitation, such fun.

One of our best white water experiences anywhere! - Exhilarating! We had an absolute blast! Our guide, Zach, did a great job - highly recommend! Appreciated the wet suit when we jumped in the river at a calm spot: cold but definitely part of the fun. Will do again next time!

Amazing experience! - Amazing trip down the Rangitaiki River with guides Zach and Justin. They were the only company on this river the day we went so we had the entire journey to ourselves. They were super informative about the area and the history as well as extremely attentive to safety on the river. I felt very safe through the entire journey and we had so much fun! Can’t say enough good things about our guides—they taught us well and kept us all in our rafts through the class 3 & 4 rapids. I would highly recommend this company and would love to raft with them again!!!

Rangitalki with Rick 2024 - The kayak director was fabulous and knowledgeable about more than just kayaking. He had history and information about the plants and animals living on the banks of the river. The water was low, though our guide made the experience very exciting. When the water was calm our guide invited us to swim which I did and found very refreshing. The obstacles along the way with the guide expertise made the journey fun and exciting.

Retched River Experience - Simply put, one of the worst tourist experiences I have ever encountered in 35 years of life and visiting six continents as a tourist. First of all, they indicate on their website if you do not have a pick up scheduled to meet at the Rotorua Airport at 10:00 am for transport. We were there at 9:50am and the crew had left already without us. Further, the crew did not think we were capable of completing a portion of the rapids and for safety asked us to walk down the river where they would pick us up. Of course, I greatly appreciate safety being a consideration, but excluding us amongst the group of other travelers felt very isolating and very segregating. When we got back on the boat, one of the crew members indicated that he was going to be a grumpy old man and let us know we were not paddling hard enough. That also would have been okay, but for he barely paddled. It felt like I was paying to witness a frat party of 28 year old rafters more than a professional tourist excursion. He also made a really really crass joke about the victims of the 2019 White Island Volcano explosion and indicated they should have known they were visiting an active volcano and could die and explaining since they are required to debrief people. It was just over all a horrible experience that I would never recommend not even to my worst enemy. Picture of the most unprofessional guide at the end scratching his head.
