Early at 8:30 am then head to Mutrah Suq : the largest Suq in the country , having lunch there , then head to the National museum.

Izki - Birket el Moz - Wadi Muaidn

Izki - Start to the Hajar Mountains which sits like a crown on the top of Oman land and map, to Izki having a walk through the mud Brik ancient settlements and to Birkat Al Mawz walking around Harat As Sibani , having lunch there and continue to Wadi Muadin where we have our first camp .

Nizwa - Hasat Bin Salt

Nizwa - The plan is not to break the camp and leave one of the crew at camp site , so we can head to the Friday market of Nizwa as early as possible! This is a rare chance to see the Omani people in the market. Visit the castle and at noon time drive back to camp where we have lunch and then break camp and drive to Hasat Bin Salt : a prehistory unique and impressive rock carving!

Jabal Shams - Wadi Nakur

Jebel Shams - Head to Jabal Shams the highest point in Arabia and start the balcony walk : this easy going trek offers an excellent vantage point from a balcony style ledge looking down into the incredible canyon ( a pair of trekking poles is recommended ).

Bahla Fort - Fahud - THE EMPTY QUARTER

Um Al Samim - THE EMPTY QUARTER

Oman - The plan is to cross the area of um al Samim which Thesiger was keen to explore for its reputation among the Bedouins to be formidable!

Because the drainage water from the Hajar mountains used to collect there making salt swamps known as quick sands, now there is a dam in the mountains preventing this , However if the area is wet because of rain will have to wait or change route!

When we cross Umm Al Samim will enter the area of magnificent huge dunes where we camp.

Ramlet El Sahma - THE EMPTY QUARTER

Oman - Continue towards Qurun El Fedah where the star dunes area is located and to Ramlet Abu Tabul area then continue south towards Ramlet Al Sahmah , exploring for spectacular dunes formation camping in one of the most beautiful deserts in the world!

Ramlet Muqshin - THE EMPTY QUARTER

Jiddat al Harasis

Oman - Drive to the highway towards Al Ghaftayn where we fuel and refresh our supplies then to Hayma , camping at Jiddat al Harasis desert short distance outside the wildlife reserve.

Wahiba Sands

Wahiba Sands - Head towards Wahiba sands to start our dune crossing adventure while exploring the beautiful dunes , Entering from the western edge following an old local track will enable us to see more different parts of the sands.

Wahiba Sans

Wahiba Sands - Crossing the vast enormous linear dunes which extends up to 50 km in length towards umm adalian , continue through the central part of the Sands then continue North on the rarely visited track away from the crowded permanent campsites. Camping a short distance close to the main road.

Wadi Bani Khaled - Muscat

Wadi Bani Khalid - Visit wadi Bani Khaled enjoying swimming at the lovely pools and having lunch there then head back to Muscat, check in hotel.

Our pioneer route is based on our experience in travelling off road for long distances and our ability to prepare a unique camping experience for our travelers. The planned route starts from Muscat where we can admire the Omani culture and history, then camping in the beautiful Hajar Mountains. Followed by a real adventure crossing the empty quarter northern part following Wilfred Thesiger foot steps and crossing Wahiba sands too makes this tour excellent for desert and dunes lovers.
