Recommended day tour Wadi Shab with Khalil - Our full day (8 hours) Wadi Shab tour including sinkhole with Khalil was well organized and especially the 45 minute hike (oneway) after a short boat trip to Wadi Shab a real highlight. The riverbed is fantastically located in a mountain valley and the path is good, partly rocky, laid out and good to "crawl" with appropriate care. Khalil was a very helpful guide here and always ensured safety on the hike. Water was adequately provided, in addition there were dates from our own cultivation. Very good. Especially his information and stories about Oman, especially family, social affairs, religion and generally country and people were extremely interesting. And a detour for an important pharmacy stop was also still in it. Highly recommended.

Recommended day trip to Wadi al Shab. - It was a wonderful day! Our guide Khalil picked us up at the hotel at 08:30 in the morning. The spacious Toyota LandcruiserJeep was clean and well maintained. Khalil briefly explained the procedure and provided us with water. Khalil guided us excellently, guided us safely through the stony riverbed upstream to the pool. Khalil gave us a lot of information about Oman, culture, family, society and cuisine. At the end of the tour Khalil went to the pharmacy especially for us. He is very helpful, accommodating and friendly. It was a great and recommended day trip.

Turtle Surprise - Seeing the geology of Oman is fascinating and the sheer scale is sometimes difficult to comprehend. The Wadi Shab experience is actually quite tough (in the heat) but well worth it. The 45-50 mins walk up the canyon helps understand the rock formations which are spectacular. You then wade/swim through a series of pools ending up in a hidden cave. The Wadi can get busy; also take jelly shoes or wet-socks if you know you're going there, or buy on site £6 (UK equiv) per pair. Staying overnight @ the Raz al Jinz turtle reserve hotel was a huge bonus. Although not the main season, we were lucky enough to see 3 green turtles coming to the beach to lay their eggs. This was a fully and very carefully supervised visit with small groups. Absolutely brilliant.

Great day at Wadi Shab - We had a tour with Mr. Waled. He met us with a sign and drove us in a comfortable car to Wadi Shab. The journey took an hour and a half, along the way he was telling facts about Oman and Muscat. He walked us into the canyon and showed us the best way everywhere. You can see that the guide has been to this canyon many times and warned about every melo so we don't get hurt. When we went into the water, it was a very slippery bottom and Mr. Waled was always helping us through difficult stretches. We saw a man fall, because in some places it's really dangerous. Without a guide, we would have wasted more time and probably not been able to avoid dangerous situations. He walked us to the very end and also helped us get back. We'll have a great experience, amazing photos and a great day.

Best place to visit in Oman - Wadi Shab is a sight to see. Gorgeous views and swimming in the Wadi is a must try experience. Kudos to Aziz, our guide for showing us the best spots and being an expert swimmer in guiding me through the Wadis. Highly recommend this experience as it's one of the best things to do in Oman.
