Mayan Experience - A culinary and educational delight! Learned many cooking aspects of Mayan culture, as well as enjoyed the dishes we helped prepare. Not quite as cooking involved as other such classes, yet still immensely enriching.

Recommended, Paco was great - We got to make tortillas, guacamole and a tasty dip/spread with fire roasted tomatoes and grind pumpkin seeds. We tasted many other Mayan foods and they were all delicious.

This was the second time... - This was the second time that I arranged for a group of friends to take this Mayan cooking class. The food and class were excellent again. Everyone enjoyed the experience and the food. However: 1) we booked a private class for 13 people, but there was another group there which stretched the resources (too many people at one time for one instructor); 2) please consider having all people who handle food for others (e.g., when making tortillas) use gloves because hand sanitizer isn't sufficient; 3) put a banister/railing on the very steep stairs going to the restrooms (they are too difficult for some people to manage and some had to walk outside for a block to use facilities; 4) the ceviche which we made in 2023 was excellent but wasn't on the menu this time. Juan is knowledgeable and does a great job; the film is informative; the chefs are excellent.

Great experience- noting that the kitchen prepares most of the meal - Excellent food and overall experience. The location was easy to find, so long as you know that it is on an interior corridor of the mall. This is a great multi-course meal, with interactive experiences, but it is important to note that you “cook” a couple of starter items and the main courses are all prepared by the kitchen. Overall, it was educational, enjoyable, and delicious.

Not a cooking class - My friends and I enjoy cooking, in fact we get together to cook cuisines from around the globe-and we signed up for this experience with that expectation as it’s called a cooking class. This experience was informative and organized but there was no learning expect the Sikil Pak we made at the very beginning, which we will remake. I would have loved to learn the Lima soup or pilbil. I understand that these dishes take longer than 2.5 hrs to prep but that should be made clear. All the other dishes were already prepared ahead of time and served. We also left annoyed at the push to leave a tip. This class is for you if you’re looking for a demonstration/tasting class, but not a cooking class.
