A Breathtaking Waterfall and the Best of Cao Bằng - Review What we thought was a trip to Ban Gioc waterfall turned out to be so much more. It was an amazing cultural experience; taking us to the local industries of local paper production and incense making, which was completely uncommercialized but the day to day of local village folk. We saw and engaged with the hospitable, friendly people who were ever welcoming. Exploring Nguom Ngao (Tiger Cave) was definitely something different from other caves. A 400 million year old cave where our guide, Aun, explained to us through, telling us stories and myths and gave us a very pleasant musical surprise. Definitely a first for us. The pièce de résistance, the trip to Ban Gioc and Chùa Phật Tích Trúc Lâm Bản Giốc Pagoda was definitely the highlight. The amazing 30 meter high, 300 meter wide waterfall that stands as the border between Vietnam and China is an amazing breathtaking experience to behold, especially up close as we were taken right to the foot of the falls by boat. Later getting a bird’s eye view of the falls from the Pagoda perched on the hillside, unraveling a macro view of Ban Gioc and the surrounding picturesque mountains was another sight to behold. Together with Aun and Thien, our amazing tour guides who are also locals of Cao Bằng, were fluent in English and focus on small private groups giving our tour a very personal vibe. Friendly, hospitable and accommodating, they really made our trip that much more memorable with local their insides, stories and anecdotes. Definitely a recommended trip for anyone considering Ban Gioc for a truly local experience.

It was an amazing experience. - Anne gave me so many wonderful views and amazing experiences. The rice was all delicious. I was able to experience things that I couldn't experience on my own, and it was really nice to have Ann as my Guide. Surprisingly, I was able to see the houses of the locals and experience making paper, which I was looking forward to.

Perfect experience to see the waterfalls and beyond! - Our trip was awesome, especially made possible through our guide Việt, who we really got along well with, joked around (he is very funny!) and used as personal photographer/videographer (thanks for that again😆) We were warmly greeted in Cao Bang and guided throughout the day seeing amazing places like a paper village, a beautiful cave (which was luckily not very crowded), a pagoda (remember to take water for this one and some hat) and of course the breathtaking waterfalls! Our guide made sure we always find the perfect photo spots, see enough of the places without rushing through them and introduced us to some really delicious local food! Would highly recommend this experience, which was very unique to us and the perfect way to finish off our Vietnam trip!
