Highlights
  • Mykonian Spiti Traditional Farm A - This activity is a combination of a traditional baking class and an experience of the traditional animal and organic farming of a Mykonian Farm. We will focus on mastering the fundamentals as well as discussing traditional techniques as we practice making our bread on our wood oven.
The activity takes place at the Mykonian Farm, where you must arrive just after 9:00am. You will be taken to a specially arranged spot in order to start our baking lesson and specifically with the kneading of the bread dough, an approximately 1-hour process. When we have finished, the dough is left to rest for approx. 45’, during which time our farm tour takes place. By the time we finish, it will be time to continue with our baking lesson and to shape the bread into its final form.
When the baking process comes to an end, you will first taste your freshly baked bread and enjoy the outcome of your lesson. Brunch will be served with all the dishes made of genuine pure Mykonian products.

Experience Mykonian tradition in an unforgettable way! - This excursion offers an unparalleled opportunity to delve into the heart of Mykonian culture through a hands-on experience at a local Melkonian farm. Upon arrival at the cruise port, we were warmly greeted by a driver to bring us to the farm. At the farm, the hospitable farm owners were eager to share their traditions. The highlight of the day is the bakery class where you learn the ancient art of breadmaking using traditional techniques. Under expert guidance, you knead and shape dough, discovering the secrets behind authentic Greek bread. The farm itself is a picturesque setting where organic farming practices are not just a trend but a way of life. You'll have the chance to explore the grounds, witnessing firsthand the sustainable methods used in cultivating fresh produce. This immersion into traditional farming offers a unique perspective on the interconnectedness between food, culture, and the environment. After your baking endeavors, we indulged in a delightful brunch featuring freshly baked bread and a variety of homemade Greek treats. Throughout the experience, the warmth and friendliness of the farm owners shine through, making you feel like a welcomed guest in their home. They generously share stories about their way of life, offering insights into Greek culture that you won't find in guidebooks. Whether you're a culinary enthusiast, a cultural explorer, or simply someone seeking a meaningful travel experience, the Mykonian Farm and Bakery Class with Brunch promises to leave a lasting impression. A wonderful experience with good food and people - We were picked directly outside our cruise ship and brought to the farm. It was a very nice small farm, with friendly staff and beautiful views. Then we met the chef who showed us how to make dough for bread and pizza. While the dough was rising, we were treated to coffee and a tour of the farm. There were dogs, cows, donkeys, sheep, goats, and very beautiful views. Once our tour was finished, we were able to enjoy what we made! The food was delicious- greek salad, spanikopita, tomato&feta pizza (that we made!), and a really delicious tzatiki dip. I definitely recommend this tour for a smaller, quiet, exursion and a more immersive experience in the Greek culture. We even saw a few busses from our Cruise ship go to the farm, but our group was only 8 people, and we got to sit in a private area, away from the large tour buses. This is a great tour for families, couples, adults, and even smaller children.

Farm experience - I booked this experience with my kids, who are all young adults. Our host Mike was gracious, funny and attentive as he guided us through the baking process. A tour of the farm with access to all the animals was a highlight for my animal-loving kids. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was relaxing. It was a nice change to get out of the urban areas we had been visiting.

Wonderful experience with friendly guide - The tour was well organized from top to bottom. We were on a cruise and they picked us up from the port. The driver was very friendly. The farm is a fifteen minute drive from the port not including picking up other participants. Once we were there, both the guide and the cook were very friendly. Because we were in the off-season it was just us and one other couple which meant a lot of opportunities to participate. The farm was beautiful and the meal we made was wonderful. I can’t recommend this tour enough for anyone looking to do something a little different on their visit to Mykonos

Mikey likes clickey clickey. - Went for my birthday with my cousin. It was a very breezy day but the surroundings protected us getting a flour shower. The host sat with us over donuts and Greek coffee. Very charming and interesting. Mikey, our baker, speaks very little English, but was able to clearly communicate each step with pantomimes, examples, and sheer will of force. We made three items, and then sat in the shade to eat them. Generous carafes of wine were presented.

Not recommended if coming off a cruise ship. - This is probably a wonderful experience but we couldn’t go due to our cruise ship being unable to dock. I appreciate that they had a 24 hr cancellation policy, but when your ship changes plans the night before, you are out of luck and out of money. I wouldn’t recommend booking this if you are coming off of a ship since it appears to not be uncommon that ships can’t dock in Mykonos due to winds. I wish we could have come to the class but now we have spent hundreds of dollars with nothing to show for it.

Waste of time and money - A lot of sitting around doing nothing. Making bread took 15 min, the chef, Mike was fun and nice but for the price it wasn’t worth it. “We” (15 people) gathered around a tiny table to mix a couple ingredients, then walked for 10 minutes around the small farm, and for the next 3 hours, we did nothing else.
