Gorgeous outing in Lewis - Alan gave an excellent tour, pointing out facts about peat, which is everywhere in the countryside. He explained about agriculture (sheep) along the way. I would not try to take a public bus to this site as service is sporadic. These stones are older than stonehenge. In a day, it is easy enough to see the stones snd also visit Lews Castle if you can sort out the transportation. We didn't have time to visit mountainous Isle of Harris next door, but could see it in distance.
