Highlights
  • Rincón de la Vieja Volcano - We start our adventure with a walk for an hour on beautiful trails in the forest to reach the Victoria waterfall, taking the picturesque scenery of the tropical forest and observing the nature that we find on the way. Once in the river, there is a small and steep descent to the pool of the waterfall. The impressive Victoria Waterfall falls dramatically 35 meters to the Rio Negro. The surrounding canyon has unique vegetation and topography and you can swim in the crystal-clear waters in the pond at the base of the waterfall. In the park live more than 300 species of birds, and many other animals, such as armadillos, peccaries, iguanas, coatis, white-faced, howler, and spider monkeys. Two twin falls called Las Chorreras fall in a spectacular pool of blue sky minerals… We will also visit the La Oropéndola Waterfall. With its impressive 25 meters, it falls into a bubbling pool of turquoise color in the lush canyon of the White River, creating an incredible tropical oasis. And finally, we will see the Rio Negro waterfall, which is born from a source of thermal water.

Beautiful waterfalls - My trip was in early Jan of 2024. My groups' tour guide was Alejandro. He was really fantastic, he knew his stuff about vegetation and nature. You could definitely tell he was passionate about it and was happy to share it with others, which was great to hear and learn about as you walk towards the waterfalls and all. The waterfalls were beautiful. We were able to swim in the first 2 and then the other 2 were just for viewing. The water was a bit cold but was refreshing! Lunch was buffet-style and it was fantastic!

Awesome - A amazing tour! The guide was excellent. He knew the answers to every question about Costa Rica and everything his beautiful country has to offer. He was very helpful and pointed out things that wasn’t mentioned on the site. I highly recommend this tour for anyone planning on seeing Costa Rica

Great value and excellent service - Rod our guy was super friendly and knowledgeable. We were not going to get to see all four waterfalls, and he arranged a trip to the hot springs and mud baths to replace that stop. Wasn’t expecting that bonus trip and it was great!

Great wander through the jungle! - We sent our guys on this one so my feedback here is second hand…they rated the actual tour, driver to the tour and the guide an easy 5-star! All was very informative and fun, including the rope bridge. The lower overall rating was due to the quality and service at the restaurant where they ate.

Pass for us - The waterfalls are beautiful, but the hike is rated "challenging" and it is most definitely not challenging. I'm pretty sure anybody that isn't overweight or disabled can do these easy hikes. It is not a continuous hike - they are out and back trips to different locations with a bus ride in between. Our guide was really nice, but we were stuck with a really strange family whose son didn't believe in deodorant. (!) You won't see much natural beauty aside from the waterfalls (which we weren't able to stay at for very long) and we saw zero animals. I'd recommend skipping this one.

It's not worth the time. The driving consumed most of the day which left little time for downtime at the resort. - Tour guide, Stevenson, was polite and knowledgeable of the ecosystem. He didn't talk to much like most tour guides do. The lunch was really good.
