Mega excursion with Carlos - We spent the day on a tour with Carlos zip lining, horseback riding and white seater inner tubing. This was one of the highlights of our trip and Carlos did a fantastic job of taking care of our family. He was professional, personable and just a great guy to spend the day with. He went out of his way to help us get to the right place at the right time to avoid some of the delays that can happen in these larger tours. We can’t recommend him and this tour enough. FANTASTIC!!

Pure Nature Tours Made our Dream Holiday a Reality! - Pure Nature Private Tours is 5 out of 5!!! Carlo's aka Ivan is a wonderful tour guide. He is so knowledgable, funny and genuine, you are missing out if he is not your tour guide. We hired Ivan for the week my daughter and I were in Costa Rica. His customer service before the trip was outstanding. We spoke on the phone twice and corresponded through What's App to plan our trip of a life time. Day 1: Ivan picked us up at the airport and we went straight to our first day excursions. He had cold drinks for us throughout the day and his mini van is outstanding comfort with wifi and charging stations. We started hiking in Parque Nacional Rincon de la Vieja. Carlos was great pointing out different plants and explaining the volcanic activity. We then when swimming at Catarata Falls. Ivan was great taking photos with our cameras to ensure we captured all the great moments. From there we went to the Rio Negro hot springs for a mud bath, dip in the natural hot springs and swim in the river. After we had a lovely lunch and then Ivan drove us to our hotel, Santarena in Las Catalinas. Day 3: Ivan picked us up and took us to Tamarindo so we could learn how to surf. We had a greta day there. Ivan toured us around Tamarindo and even took videos of us surfing so we had the moments captured. I booked Iguana surf and they were amazing. Oscar and Heidi were wonderful teachers and we were able to get up n the second try! Day 4: Monteverde Cloud Forest - Zipling. Ivan picked us up at 630am and drove us to Monteverde (3.5 hrs away). We had a great time seeing the country with Ivan pointing out different things. We stopped for a lovely breakfast and he showed us wild Maccas. We walked through the rainforest and over the 7 hanging bridges. It was amazing to see. After that Ivan organized our zip lining adventure where we did the superman and Tarzan. So much fun! Ivan took us to a nice Italian restaurant. Monteverde is a beautiful drive and gorgeous spot. We saw the most beautiful rainbow. We were in Las Catalinas so it was a lengthy drive, but was worth seeing. Day 6: Catarata Falls, Parque Nacional Volcan Tenorio, Rio Celeste Falls, Sloth Sanctuary and Coffee and Chocolate tour. This was one of the most amazing days. Where we got to see some of the most amazing waterfalls. At the sanctuary we saw a boa, viper, tucan, other birds and got up close to a sloth. It was the most amazing thing to see these animals in the wild. It is not an enclosed space like you think with the term sanctuary, it is a farmers land, so all the animals are wild and free. We also did the coffee and chocolate tour which was amazing learning about two of my favourite things! Day 8: Ivan picked us up and we headed back to Liberia. Ivan toured us around and my daughter and I went and got tattoos @rueban_art_tatoo who was amazing!. We stayed @ Santarena in Las Catalinas. It was a beautiful Town. With fine dining and great plaza spaces. The beach was black sand. It was on the pricer side; $50-$75 USD for lunch and $125-$150 USD for diner. Was a bit out of the way but was beautiful. We will definitely come back to Costa Rica we had an experience of a life time thanks to Ivan aka Carlos at Pure Nature Private Tours:)

Outstanding - Carlos was phenomenal. He was kind, funny, and friendly. Above else, knowledgeable and made our experience fantastic. I’d recommend him to anyone & would book him again hands down. I can’t say enough kind words about him. He is definitely one of the highlights from our trip!!!!

Arenal zipline and hike tour - Carlos suggested a zipline and rainforests tour in Arenal. I will tell you that this was the most thrilling time we had. My 75 year old parents joined in the fun knowing Carlos took into consideration their abilities. Carlos is extremely knowledgeable and fun to be around. Don’t use anyone else because you won’t regret it and the personal touch you receive is second to none. We have been to CR 3 times this year and Carlos is always the first call from the states ensuring he is available to transport from the airport and start the fun.

Pure Nature Private Tours---Well worth it and a highlight of Costa Rica - Carlos Mendez was excellent. Very professional, thoughtful, insightful, knowledgable about the surroundings and local attraction and history. We enjoyed the day we had with him very much. He soon became one of the family members. He was so resourceful and seemed to always have a fun activity for our group. We all had a great time with him and hated to see the day end. I highly recommend Carlos and Pure Nature Private Tours and look forward to hooking up with him the next trip to Costa Rica. Awesome experiences! With some great tour guides! - Carlos took us on one tour and we had such a great day we booked another tour with him! First tour we went to a beautiful waterfall, went to see some sloths and then suspension bridges in the rainforest! Carlos was so welcoming and a wealth of knowledge! Our second tour was with Jose and we went zip lining, horseback riding and visited some hot springs! Jose was great as well! We appreciated spending time with both Carlos and Jose! They teach you a lot about Costa Rica and make sure you have an amazing day! Costa Rica is beautiful!! Highly recommend reaching out to Carlos for any tours or travel needs while visiting Costa Rica! We will for any future trips!!

Bueno Vista del Rincon Adventure - Booked an all day excursion to Bueno Vista Rincon for myself and 13 year old son. Overall, if you are looking for a day of activities close to the Guanacaste area this is a fun choice. The location felt a bit “touristy” but what made this a standout memory for us was our guide Pablo! He was a nice guy that knew a lot about wildlife and the area. He took little opportunities to share insights on the plants and animals along with Costa Rican culture. While he kept us on track for all the activities we never felt rushed and we really enjoyed the day. The day started out early with pickup/drop off right at our resort. Pablo was on time and the SUV was immaculate and comfortable for the 2 hour drive each way. Our favorite activities were the zip line and walk through the forest to the hanging bridges. We saw a super cool tree and Pablo filled us in on its origin. The zip lines were amazing with incredible views! We also went to the “hot springs” which are more man made than natural but still a cool experience to soak in the hot water while surrounded by nature with good facilities that included bathrooms, changing rooms, and lockers. Our least favorite part of the day was the horseback riding. Having grown up riding I could see these horses were over worked and the trail was just a loop around the property that wasn’t very interesting at all. I’d just skip this part and spend more time in the hot tubs. We hit some heavy rain and decided not to hike the 45 minutes out to the waterfall but did enjoy the cultural demonstration that explained how sugar cane was originally harvested and sampled Costa Rican treats and coffee. While I still wish we had made it to the cloud forest this was a good choice for activities within a 2 hour range of our hotel that both a teen and mom could enjoy doing together
