• The Land Gate - Our sea kayaking trip starts from Karathona beach where you will meet your guide. You will receive a detailed briefing on all the important trip information and safety advice before beginning your paddling adventure on the crystal-clear sea. What makes sea kayaking around Nafplio unique is the view of three medieval forts creating a remarkable scenery. We will paddle towards Bourtzi, built in the 15th century on an islet right in front of the port. Observing the UNESCO world heritage fortress of Palamidi and the town beneath from sea level is an extraordinary experience. We will continue paddling along and under the hill of Akronauplia fortress, offering spectacular views of the cliffs covered in prickly pear cactus. After some kayaking, we will stop for swimming and snorkeling, and for the more adventurous, there will be an opportunity for cliff diving! Here, we will also enjoy a homemade picnic of local delicacies and relax under the sun. After this energizing stop, we will circle back around the hill and return to the town.

Situated less than a two-hour car journey from Athens, Nafplio is renowned as one of the prettiest towns in the Peloponnese, and widely considered one of Greece’s most romantic cities. It holds a prime waterside position, nestled amongst the sizable Palamidi main fort, the smaller Akronafplia, and the minor Bourtzi on a tiny island west of the town’s old region. Nafplio is enclosed by a striking scenery best viewed from the sea.
