There are much less tourists here which gives you the opportunity to savour and enjoy the surroundings. The template has been so well preserved and has lots of small shrines and a gate on the approach up to it with beautiful trees and plants and lanterns all around. There are also lots of little restaurants and places to buy souvenirs. We had a really enjoyable walk up to see this - 25 minutes from Nagano station and it was well worth the walk. A really beautiful place.

Fantastic Experience - I had an amazing experience on the 1-day private Snow Monkey, Zenkoji Temple, and Sake Tasting Tour in Nagano. The itinerary was perfectly balanced, offering cultural, natural, and culinary highlights. Watching the snow monkeys up close in their natural hot springs was both heartwarming and unique. The visit to Zenkoji Temple was serene and enlightening, with fascinating history shared by the guide. The sake tasting session was a delightful way to end the day, featuring local flavors and expert insights. The private guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and ensured the day ran smoothly. Interesting tour in Nagano.. - Outstanding day! Malik, our driver/guide, was excellent. His English was very good and he was attentive & always ready to help to what we wanted to see and do.The Zenjoki Temple has different five types of shrines also have alot of different number of buddahs. We went to many temples in Kyoto however we had not encountered a temple as large and interesting as this one. We also enjoyed the local Japanese festival during the trip at the temple which was a rare experience for us to visualize the authentic Japanese culture. All in all an outstanding day. We are really happy with the service as it is value of money doing this tour.

Saw so many monkeys! - We went to the snow monkey park in early May. Sanjid was our driver and was very patient and thoughtful.

Amazing Day - This private tour was amazing experience to visit Nagano region me & my family really enjoyed the tour. We had interaction with the naughty monkeys. Looking them closely was really great experience as we never had this kind of experience before. Sajid our driver was great person he patiently waited for us at every spot. Lunch was delicious we loved this trip and took alot of memories with us. Highly recommend this service to everyone.

Hot Spring Bathing Monkeys - One of the must visit place in Nagano region. Best experience. As my wife & I participated in this trip we had amazing experience . Our driver Malik had fluent English skills was also accommodating & friendly. Lunch meal was great. Trail up to the mountain is quite lengthy but amazing views. Finally Monkeys amazing & visualising them closely was best part of the tour. We Highly recommend Smile tours as they delivered their best to make our trip comfortable and relaxed.

Great tour - The tour is definitely pricey but you get what you pay for. I was contacted by the tour company and the driver one day before the tour. They were professional and efficient. Our driver Sajid was personable and accommodating. We would recommend friends to book this tour in the future.

Splendid experience & service - Amazing experiences with Mr.Malik.As he was really caring & patience, also gave us lot of limberness. He was attentive throughout the trip at all stopovers food was delicious we really liked the location of the restaurant. As our reservation was already been booked by the Smile team. Was really joyful to hire this service. Thank you for such hospitality. We highly recommend this service to everyone.

Not as advertised. This is a driver service - there is no guide to the attractions.. - Extremely Disappointed. "Smile" tours misrepresented what it delivers. This is a driver service only. There is no guide for the monkey park or temple. There is no sake tasting. The lunch was not good - it included the worst sushi I've ever had. This company is trying to present itself as another company that actually offers an English speaking guide to the attractions. And it takes longer than 6 hours, since they don't mention the two hour roundtrip drive to the monkey park. Our driver was a nice person but he could have spoken Japanese and it wouldn't have mattered since he barely spoke to us...
