Day 1: Nairobi - Aberdares

Aberdare National Park - Pick up from the airport or hotel in the morning and depart for Aberdares arriving with a short game drive at the hotel in Nyeri. Check in and have lunch. Go on an afternoon game drive across Aberdares Park, and later have dinner and overnight at the Ark. Wildlife can be observed from different levels - from outside where you can see, hear and smell everything and inside where you can sit with a cup of tea and stay warm and cozy. You can put in a request to be awakened during the night if your favorite animals show up. A herd of elephants might be just feet away and if you are lucky, a leopard or large male Lion.

Aberdare National Park is the country’s most elevated national park and encompasses a rare combination of soaring peaks, a high altitude plateau with alpine moorland, and dense rainforest at the lower altitudes.

In Samburu National Reserve, you can get a view of Uaso Nyiro River that cuts through this reserve, drawing a big population of Kenya animals to the park. The river bustles with activity from its huge population of Nile crocodile.
