Maasai Mara National Reserve - After breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive in the reserve with a picnic lunch, searching for the Big Five and other numerous plains animals. The Maasai Mara National Reserve is a preserved savannah wilderness in southwestern Kenya, along the Tanzanian border. Its wildlife includes lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, and hippos. Lake Nakuru National Park - After an early breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru in the west. Ascend the eastern wall of the Great Rift Valley, where lush coffee and tea plantations adorn the landscape. Your driver-guides will provide a brief overview of coffee and tea farming in Kenya along the way, with a short stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for photographs. Jinja town is known as the adventure capital of East Africa, offering a variety of adventure sports and activities, including white water rafting, bungee jumping, and kayaking. Jinja Town - Kabale - Lake Bunyonyi Uganda
Lake Victoria - After breakfast, drive to Kabale, Uganda’s highest town (2000m), enjoying the beautiful, lush scenery along the way. Camp at Lake Bunyonyi, Africa’s deepest crater lake (900m). Bunyonyi means “place of the little birds,” so expect to see interesting and unique birdlife during your stay. Enjoy a scenic drive over the mountains as you transfer to your base in Kisoro, located on the southwestern tip of Uganda. Relax in the evening as you prepare for the upcoming trek. Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park - Embark on a once-in-a-lifetime experience today. Trek through the early morning mist in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, home to roughly half of the world’s 700 remaining mountain gorillas. The trek can be challenging and may take a full day - a water bottle and sturdy walking shoes or boots are highly recommended. Experienced local guides will lead you through the dense mountain jungle. Once the gorillas are located, you will observe them for about an hour (this time is strictly regulated by the Uganda Wildlife Authority). Photography is allowed, but without flash (there are also restrictions on video camera use). Whether or not you have a camera, this is one of the most breathtaking and emotional experiences Africa offers and will remain with you long after your journey. Overnight at Bunyonyi Overland Resort.
Pygmy Village Visit
Kabale - After breakfast, take a guided walk to visit locals in the community. You have the option to visit the local Batwa community or go canoeing on the lake. Return to the camp in time for lunch, after which you can relax or take a walk in the community. Overnight at Bunyonyi Overland Resort.
Kabale Uganda - Jinja Town
Jinja - After breakfast, transfer back to Kampala, with lunch en route. Arrive in the city by evening. Check into your hotel and enjoy some of the nightlife the city offers. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay at Paradise Jinja Hotel.
Jinja Town - Lake Naivasha National Park
Lake Naivasha - After breakfast, head south, passing through Naivasha town and drive around the southern end of the lake, past the flower farms to the entrance of Hell’s Gate National Park. Upon entering the park, the impressive landscape unfolds before you, revealing a semi-arid world with sheer rugged cliffs, open plains, and deep concealed gorges. An afternoon boat ride at an additional cost among colonies of hippos offers an ideal view over Lake Naivasha. There are many activities to enjoy in Hell’s Gate, including walking, cycling, rock climbing, bird watching, and trekking through the gorge among the geysers.
