Nairobi to Aberdare National Park

Aberdare National Park - Begin with a morning pickup from the airport or your hotel in Nairobi. Head towards Aberdare National Park, traveling through scenic coffee and tea plantations to reach The Aberdares Country Club, located on the slopes of Mweiga Hill. After enjoying lunch, continue to the Ark tree lodge, situated in the forest on the mountain slopes of the Aberdares Mountains at an elevation of 7,000 feet. This exceptional lodge offers high-altitude wildlife viewing, featuring rare animals such as the Giant Forest Hog, Bush Pig, Tree Hyrax, large Spotted Genet, and the elusive Bongo Antelope. Wildlife can be observed from various levels – outside, where you can fully experience the sights, sounds, and scents, or inside, where you can relax with a warm cup of tea. Guests can request to be awakened at night if their favorite animals appear. A herd of elephants might be just a few feet away, and with some luck, a leopard or a large male lion might make an appearance.

Aberdare to Samburu National Reserve

Samburu National Reserve - After a morning breakfast, depart Aberdare for Samburu National Reserve. This journey takes us by road to Kenya’s northern frontier. Samburu is a wild and rugged area, known for its stunning arid savannahs nourished by the beautiful Uaso Nyiro River. It is one of Kenya’s most protected regions and is home to species unique to the area north of the equator, such as the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebras, and Beisa oryxes. Overnight stay at Samburu Sopa Lodge or a similar accommodation.

Full Day Samburu National Park

Samburu National Reserve - As dawn breaks in golden hues, the day begins by observing the river from the tent’s veranda with a steaming cup of coffee. Before the morning dew evaporates, embark on a quest to spot elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs thriving in the reserve’s grasslands and acacia woodlands. The day is a blend of exploration in the bush and relaxation at the cozy lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at Samburu Sopa Lodge or a similar accommodation.

Samburu to Nairobi

Nairobi - After breakfast, depart the lodge and drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the city around lunchtime. Drop-off at the Nairobi hotel or airport for your flight back home.
