• Hell’s Gate National Park - Start with a 7am pickup in Nairobi, then journey to Lake Naivasha and Hell’s Gate National Park, pausing to enjoy views of the Great Rift Valley from a scenic overlook along the way.
  Upon arriving at the park around 9am, embark on a 2-hour guided bike/walking tour: look out for stunning rock formations, herds of Thompson’s gazelle, eland, zebra, giraffes, warthogs, and hartebeest as you ride. Keep an eye on the sky throughout the tour, as Hell’s Gate National Park is home to over 100 species of birds, including Verreaux’s eagles, augur buzzards, vultures, and swifts.

Continue on foot into the park’s unique gorges, where narrow passageways and caves are carved into sedimentary rock. After a 1-hour walk, head to Lake Naivasha, then proceed to Naivasha Marina Camp for lunch (at your own expense).

Note: If biking is not an option, the park can be toured by vehicle, and the driver/guide is pleased to stop for photos of wildlife and scenery at no additional cost.

Spot the hippos that linger just beneath the water’s surface, and observe some of the diverse birdlife; African fish eagles, lesser flamingos, African spoonbills, and little grebes are all commonly seen here. At 4pm, begin the return journey to Nairobi, concluding the day with a drop-off in Nairobi at approximately 6pm.
