• Rift Valley Province - This tour begins with a pick-up from your starting location by our professional driver/guide at 8 am. Hell’s Gate is a two-hour drive from Nairobi, but we will stop at the Great Rift Valley escarpments [viewpoint] for photography and a stunning view of the Rift Valley.
• Hell’s Gate National Park - Hell’s Gate is the only national park in Kenya where visitors can walk freely. It was named after a narrow break in the cliffs, once a tributary of a prehistoric lake that sustained early humans in the Rift Valley. It’s an ideal family getaway for day trips from Nairobi. The park is renowned for its natural hot geysers, rock climbing, vulture breeding grounds, and a unique spot to view the Fisher’s Towers, formerly a volcanic rock Obsidian, a striking black glassy rock formed from cooled molten lava, and geothermal power plants. You will descend into the gorges for a walk to see the hot springs and the Hell Channel, which hosts Hell’s Bedroom and Hell’s Kitchen. Cycling through this park is an adventurous option. Wildlife to see here includes buffaloes, Masai giraffes, zebras, and various antelopes.
• Lake Naivasha - After Hell’s Gate, it will be a great time to visit the freshwater lake next to the park for an optional lunch and boat ride at Lake Naivasha Crescent Camp, enjoying the pleasant lake breeze. You can opt for a boat ride to get closer to hippos and many aquatic birds, including fish eagles. After this, it will be a good time to start your journey back to Nairobi, arriving before sunset.
