• Kibera - You will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel and taken to Kibera Slums. The journey will take you through Ngong Road, with a stop at Soweto Village homesteads. Next, you’ll visit the Curio (handcrafts) Workshop to see how Kibera residents creatively make ornaments from animal bones. The tour continues with visits to nursery schools, a water vendor, and a shower shop, allowing you to interact with locals as they go about their daily activities. You’ll also have the opportunity to enter a typical Kibera house and ask questions about life in the slum.
• Bomas of Kenya - After a lunch break (at your own expense), you’ll visit the Bomas of Kenya to experience the diverse cultures and history of the country. Located in Langata near the main gate to Nairobi National Park, this cultural center features performances by talented resident artists. They showcase traditional dances and songs from various tribal groups, including Swahili Taarab music, Kalenjin warrior dances, Embu drumming, and Kikuyu circumcision ceremonies. While it is a tourist attraction, it offers a spectacular afternoon experience and is a must-visit for all tourists. You will be dropped back at your hotel around 5-6 PM.
