Eye opening experience - Wow, what an interesting experience. With the family of five we were taken through down town Nairobi. We were accompanied by 4 former street children. She told their story with pride, which was very nice to see km. Definitely recommended.

A powerful and unforgettable experience – a must-do in Nairobi - I’ve done the Nam Nami Streetkid Tour twice now, and each time it has left a deep impression on me. It’s an incredibly powerful way to explore downtown Nairobi through the eyes of those who know it best – former street children who now work as guides.
This tour is so much more than a walk through the city. The guides are phenomenal storytellers with raw, moving, and often painful stories about their time living on the streets. What makes it even more inspiring is that they’ve consciously left that life behind and are now dedicating themselves to helping current street children find a better future.
Their honesty, strength, and commitment shine through in every part of the tour. These stories stay with you long after the walk is over. It's not only a unique and eye-opening experience – it's also a meaningful way to support individuals who have taken brave steps away from street life and crime.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a deeper understanding of Nairobi and the resilience of its people.

Alternative walking tour with people who grew up in the poorer part of town - We read about this walking tour and were looking forward to trying it. We had to meet in the middle of the business district and waited quite a long time to finally meet our guide "Tsunami". We walked through the less touristy bit of Downtown Nairobi and "Tsunami" told us stories about his upbringing and life in the poorer parts of Nairobi.
How interesting and difficult to imagine.
The tour is not for the faint-hearted but was an extremely insightful and rewarding way of getting a glimpse of the difficult lives a lot of people live here. Finally we had some local food in a small eatery.
Strongly to be recommended!

More educational than a week at school! - An incredibly authentic and touching tour that gives insights into a part of society so often forgotten. Children are forced into drugs and crime in order to survive. What a contrast to the lives of our children - who listened with much interest to our great guide Tsunami and keep asking questions! Better than a week at school! Thanks much!

A look behind the scenes - Thyphoon reports in a very interesting way about his childhood and growing up in the streets of Nairobi, showing you the neighborhoods that you would not normally visit as a tourist. A tour worth seeing and listening to, which you can recommend without restriction. The really poor neighborhoods are not for anxious people. The other two guys who accompanied Thyphoon always make you feel safe everywhere. I liked it a lot and I thank the guys for their support

Sight seeing + storytelling from a former street kid is a refreshing activity! - Our guide was Typhoon, and our security was King! They are both amazing storytellers and answered all of our questions passionately. For every walk we took within the city, there is a story behind it from their past. Seeing the city center for what it is + hearing one's story from being a street kid is the perfect combo to learn about a place from an unconventional perspective! We started the day with the tour, and the local Kenyan lunch to cap everything off was a plus! Definitely a recommended activity to explore the city!

Moving. Profound. Informative. - It was an informative and interesting walking tour.I felt very safe and well looked after at all times. Hearing the life story of a person born into the slums was profound and will always stay with me. I am thankful for having had this experience and give thanks for everyone involved.

Unique experience! - The ex-street boys are trying to make a difference in the future of Nairobi. It is a small step, but an important one. Typhoon is a great tour guide who brought us to the heart of downtown Nairobi—a truly unique experience, and something you don’t often see in a lifetime. He is well-spoken, explained everything clearly, and showed us ‘Typhoon Square,’ where he grew up hanging around. If you want to experience Nairobi, don’t miss this!

A profound journey with two outstanding guides. - This was one of the most extraordinary experiences we have ever had. We were shown and told the authentic story of Nairobi from the perspective of our incredible guides, Typhoon and Priest. The tour was fascinating, revelatory, powerful and provoking. It enabled us to leave the safe cocoon of tourism and encounter the truth of the experience of living on the streets. It was extremely moving and optimistic, despite the extreme challenges that Typhoon and Priest faced earlier in their lives. It would be so easy to not bother with a tour like this, but I urge you to try it. You will feel connected to this city in a way that no other experience can provide.

Interesting tour, value for money does not fit - +
Our guide Typhoon has told a very vivid and thrilling story about his story on the streets of Nairobi. He is nice and open-minded and has responded to all our questions. The walk gives you a good impression of the neighbourhood. The food at a local restaurant was delicious and a nice end to the tour. In addition, Typhoon took care that we were all picked up in the right place by our Uber.

During the tour, the guide asked us to buy meals at a street food stall, which the vendor then distributes to street children later. We had a weird feeling here.
In the description of the activity and when booking, Nai Nami advertises that there is always one guide for every two guests. We had three guests per guide and he was late for the meeting point. Price-performance (45 USD per person) is not right for me here.
