Highlights
  • Uhuru Park Nairobi - After a brief introductory meeting with your local guide, head off to explore Nairobi! Walking through the streets of Nairobi and travelling by public transport provides plenty of opportunity to mingle with the locals as they go about their daily lives, making this a pretty solid local experience in our books.

Your Nairobi walking tour will kick off with a stroll through Uhuru Park, right in the heart of the city, before wandering past the parliament buildings and the mausoleum of the first president of Kenya, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.

  • Kenyatta International Conference Center - This Nairobi tour continues with a look at the Kenyatta Conference Centre.
  • August 7th Memorial Park - August 7th Memorial Park, which was built to commemorate the bombing of the US Embassy. We’ll also give you the opportunity to visit the Kenya National Archives and various other sites within the city centre, based on your interests and our route.
Another key local experience is food, so it’s no surprise that this Nairobi city tour includes the opportunity to sample local cuisine at lunch at a local restaurant. Eat like a local, chat with locals, see Nairobi like a local…soon you’ll pretty much BE a local! (well, not quite, but you know what we’re getting at…)

Fun, crazy, exciting walk thru Nairobi. - Lennox took us on the tour, and it was quite exciting. He was very observant, informative, and fun to talk to. Whether it was wading through the traffic on our way across the street or learning all the deep history of the different tribes in the surrounding area, there was never a dull moment. The markets allowed for an immesersion into the culture and daly lives of most citizens that made me very glad to have a guide with us. My favorite part was experiencing the view of the city on to of the Convention Centre. I only wish lunch was a little earlier because I found it hard to really retain a lot of the information given during the museum portion. Overall, really great experience, and I would recommend it to others.

Nairobi City Tour - A great way to experience the hustle, bustle and chaos of downtown Nairobi. Enjoyed the views from the Kenyatta Convention Centre helipad, the country's history in the National Archives, a tasty lunch, then we extended to visit the Museum and Snake Park. Our lovely guide, Clinton, willingly shared his knowledge of all the main features, and looked after us well.

A great first day in Nairobi - We took this tour after arriving at our hotel early with the day free before our tour began. Lennox was an amazing tour guide, made us feel at home right away in an otherwise chaotic city! We saw so many interesting places learning about the history of Kenya. The view from the top of the conference centre was a great way to see the city. The lunch was tasty too and the timings worked really well we had plenty of time to explore. We followed up this tour with the arranged visit to the Nairobi National museum which was also fantastic way to learn more about Nairobi and Kenya.

Excellent look at Nairobi! - This was a great way to experience downtown Nairobi with limited time. After wrapping up an excellent Intrepid tour, I had around 24 hours in Kenya’s biggest city. Stepping out in to the street just after 9am and back by 2, the guide and I walked around the city and past some of the city’s main landmarks. We walked through the government precinct, retail and food heart and also visited the Kenyatta Conference Centre and lookout. Clinton provided excellent commentary and history of the city and Kenya - especially its recent past. He also helped me understand what makes Kenya ticks. Definitely give this a go if you’re keen to understand the city and hear from a local about what makes their home buzz!

Personalized and fun introduction to Nairobi (and Kenya) - Loved the Nairobi City Walking Tour! In my opinion, the description doesn't do it justice. I was one of four travellers and our guide was Lennox. He managed to make this experience amazing by being extremely considerate of varying physical abilities, dietary restrictions, and personal preferences. What is more, Lennox was particularly skilled at providing detailed insight into Kenyan culture, history, and politics in a casual and relevant way. No unwelcome or dry history lessons here, don't worry. :) I highly recommend doing this tour during the day if you have a departure for a multi-day group tour scheduled for the same night or the next day. It's a great way for solo travellers like me to potentially meet some fellow travellers in a more intimate setting prior to departure. It definitely worked for me! Pro tip: Bring lots of water! We spent over five hours exploring.

Okay-ish city tour but disappointing lunch - Clinton took myself and a few others in the group all over Nairobi. Pros: - He shared several facts about the city, making the capital seem a lot more interesting than it was - Matatu/bus ride was cool Cons: - Terrible lunch place, it's not even Kenyan, it's Somali - Clinton couldn't even recommend a dish from the menu, I had to drag the waiter myself to do it...
