Highlights
  • Nairobi National Museum - Start your day with a visit to the Nairobi National Museum, which is situated on Museum Hill, a short distance from the city center. The museum offers a unique display of Kenya’s rich heritage, both cultural and natural. Marvel at Ahmed, the massive elephant, who became a symbol of Kenya at the height of the 1980s poaching crisis is displayed here. He was placed under 24-hour guard by President Jomo Kenyatta. Explore the museum’s permanent collection, through the hall of Kenya, some ethnological exhibits such as the extraordinary Kalenjin cloak made from the skins of Sykes Monkeys and a mosaic map of Kenya made from the country’s butterflies. Next hall is the birds of east Africa exhibit, a huge gallery of at least 900 stuffed specimens. Then follows the great hall of mammals. Cradle of Humankind, the highlight of which is the Hominid Skull Room
  • Kenyatta International Conference Center - This will be our next stop. The iconic 28-storey building is located along Harambee Avenue in the City Square of Nairobi. The skyscraper’s rooftop provides a 360-degree picturesque panoramic view of the city center and its horizons. Only then can one appreciate the beauty and complex pattern that it embodies.
We will then proceed to the Nairobi view point on the recreational grounds of an ordinary Kenyan, Uhuru Park as we learn more on its historical significance to the Kenyan Nation-State.
Chronologically will find our way into the Central Business District. As we walk, we will share tales told in real-time by your guide of the history of pre-independence Nairobi and post-independence Nairobi. We will walk through the city visiting different landmarks, including KICC, Kipande house, among others.

Learn the Truth and Celebrate Traditions - Nairobi has some rich history and a bright future that can only be told there and while hearing/ seeing it from those with direct lineage. This tour captures Nairobi and Kenya as a whole. Kelvin enlightened us at the beginning of each tour and then turned us over to trusted guides at each location who went deeper. Rather it was learning about how Kenya overcame colonization and holding snakes at the Museum, watching traditional dances at Bomas of Kenya or supporting women entrepreneurs at Kobe Tough; the tour kept my family engaged for the day.

Perfect Day in Nairobi - We had a truly fantastic day in Nairobi. Our driver, Denish was punctual and picked us up at the hotel which was very convenient. He made sure we were aware of the happenings of the day. He was knowledgeable about Kenya and Nairobi, especially during our time at KICC. He was lighthearted and looked after us well. The company has paired together these activities nicely. With cultural experiences at Nairobi National Museum and the Bomas of Kenya and more modern experiences at KICC and the August 7th Memorial Park. I would highly recommend booking for a weekend so you have the opportunity to see the acrobatic act at the Bomas. I would definitely book another tour with Rustic Nature Tours. Thank you Denish, for a wonderful day.

Unforgettable day in Nairobi - What an amazing day tour it was. Kelvin, our driver and guide, was such a nice guy to spend time with and showed great knowledge about Kenya and Nairobi. The highlights were definitely going up to the top floor at the KICC, our lunch at a local restaurant, where Kelvin introduced us to great kenyan food and beer, and our time at Bomas of Kenya. Thank you Kelvin for this great day! Would definitely recommend this tour!

A great day in Nairobi - Douglas was our guide and did a great job. We had booked in German (because you could choose that) but I don't think that's available in Nairobi. But you should know that. As there were only two of us, we skipped one part of the program, but our guide was totally flexible. The location for lunch was a great choice, very nice and totally reasonable in price. Highly recommended for a day in Nairobi. You get to see the best spots!
