- Nairobi National Park - Get picked from your hotel, residence, or airport for an early morning game drive. Nairobi National Park is unique as the only protected area in the world with a variety of animals and birds close to a capital city. It is a major attraction for visitors to Nairobi and also serves many local residents. As a successful rhino sanctuary, the park has an excellent record for supporting the species and nurturing them until they are relocated to their former range and to other upcoming sanctuaries. Due to this success, it is one of the few parks where a visitor can be certain of seeing a black rhino in its natural environment.
- Giraffe Centre - The Giraffe Centre is home to endangered Rothschild giraffes, only found in the semi-arid regions of Africa where trees and bushes are plentiful. This is a unique place to see and learn about the tallest animal species: the giraffe.
- The Carnivore Restaurant - The next stop is Carnivore Restaurant for lunch. Upon your arrival, you will simply take your seat on the zebra-striped chair, so the movable feast can begin. First comes the soup of the day before a sizzling cast-iron plate is placed in front of you, along with a plate of home-baked brown bread and butter. An army of carvers wearing zebra-striped aprons and straw hats then move from table to table carrying Masai swords laden with different prime meats, deliberately carving unlimited amounts onto the sizzling cast-iron plates in front of you. Meats that will be available include leg of beef, ostrich, leg of lamb, pork spare ribs, crocodile, chicken wings, pork sausages, beef sausages, and more. Accompanying the meat feast is a wide selection of salads and vegetable side dishes, and also a variety of sauces stacked onto a 2-tiered revolving tray in the center of the table. Stop the circulation of meats to your table by lowering the white paper flag that is on top.
- Bomas of Kenya - Experience the rich culture of Kenya’s 42 different ethnic groups as they live on a day-to-day basis. This is clearly demonstrated through traditional dances, music, song, and folklore. There is a splendid arena where acrobatic shows are performed. The Bomas of Kenya put on displays of traditional dancers and spread over many acres, it also has a wonderful display of mud huts and traditional Kenyan homesteads. These traditional houses are set out in clusters according to the region. The homes are grouped with the first wife’s hut, second wife’s hut, granary, etc., and you can see where the livestock are kept and the enormous variety between the huts. Bomas of Kenya was initiated in 1971 after Kenya’s independence (1964) and is run by the Kenyan Government to promote Kenya’s rich cultural heritage.
