The journey takes a drive down the Great Rift Valley stopping at the viewpoint for photography. You then continue on to get to Hell’s Gate National Park to arrive at 9:30am. Once at the Park, you have the option of a game drive in a Safari vehicle or take bikes into the Park. Cycling in the Park is a great adventure as you get to ride the bikes for 7 Kilometers before resting at a ranger’s post. Continue on foot into the park’s distinctive gorges, where narrow passageways and caves are sunk into sedimentary rock. After a 1-hour walk, stop by a local Maasai community to learn about traditional life and customs in the Great Rift Valley, then head to Naivasha Fisherman’s camp for lunch (own expense). \n\nExplore Lake Naivasha wildlife on a 1-hour boat tour (not included in price). Spot the hippos that linger just at the surface of the water, and see some of the diverse birdlife; African fish eagles, lesser flamingos, African spoonbill, and little grebe are all common here. Great trip to the Rift Valley! - I had a very nice day on this trip to Hells Gate and Lake Naivasha. Sam was an excellent guide - as a solo female traveller, he made sure I felt safe on the tour and I really appreciated that.

Awesome active day trip! - My husband and I took this day trip and both absolutely loved it! Gorgeous drive from Nairobi leading down the Rift Valley was stunning. The bike ride + short hike in Hell’s Gate was perfect, we were so happy to be outside on the bikes and seeing so many animals - definite highlight!!! The boat ride was great too, price could be included or something in total cost though, if you don’t elect to take the boat ride I’m not sure what else you could do around there - but highly suggest taking the ride!

Amazing day - I've did this tour on the 8th of November and it was a really nice experience. If you wanna see animals from close by with a bike and you have some good physique, this is really a must do thing in Nairobi . Francis was my personal driver and he was on time, very friendly and he helped me through the day with all his experience and knowledge about Nairobi. Once arrived at Hells Gate, I got the company of Kadafi and he was very helpful in guiding me through the park. I saw so many animals, even had a close encounter with a giraf on the road... really incredible. Sadly the gorges were not open (due to the horrific incident from a few weeks ago and also due to rain). The cycling is quiet challenging as you also need to get back but Kadafi took the time. Afterwards I went to the lake. This was nice to see but just then for the hippos and the sceneray with the birds. Thank you Francis for the nice day in Nairobi.

If you got only one day to a safari, surely worth the tour. - A spontaneous decision, and following the recommendation of a friend, who had booked this trip in February 23, we booked for two. The driver was super punctual at the point of pickup. That was a very positive surprise and off we went. The drive to the points of interest was rather lenghty - but it is what it is. We had to get used to the many speed bumps and the chosen technique getting over these. Luckily we don't get seasick that quickly. After perhaps 1.5 hours we reached the first viewpoint. We were on our own to enjoy this - besides the very persistent vendors that you expect to find here. It might have been nice to have had the back covered by the guide during this time, as my colleague and I hardly could talk without the vendors trying to dominate the discussion. Anyway - a spontaneous stop on our request at the Catholique Church build by italian P.O.Ws near Maai Mahiu was very nice and when you know the story of the place, actually a must. On the road went, and eventually we started spotting Baboons, then Zebras. Most of these pictures could be deleted later, as the views in the Hell's Gate Park will be much better. We chose to experience the park by car, rather than by bikes. In between we took short walks into the "wild", approaching discretely the animals. That was one of the best aspects of this tour. The Hell's Gate gorge was actually closed due to the ealier accident. This is a big loss for this tour, but understandable measure considering. Returning we observed the geothermal energy facilities. No nice, but interesting and impressive. Another highlight was the stop in the Fisherman's camp at Lake Naivasha. The food tasted very good and the whole atmosphere was totally relaxing. At this point we decided, that "more isn't necessarily better", and so chose to relax here rather than add the boat tour. However, I'm told by my friend that it is absolutely impressive when you can see the Hippos in the water. Perhaps if you stay till the early evening, you might see them approaching the Fishermens camp. We then retourned to the city, which was again approx 2-2,5hours drive. The guide was very nice, facilitating what we needed, without being constantly present. The vehicle was clean and in reasonable condition. The driving style appeared to be safe, but still needed some getting used to. The views in Hell's Gate and at the Fishermen's Camp were spectacular (but without predator cats and Elephants). The -1 Star is due to the long ride and the missing experience of the Hell's Gate gorge (which are both not the fault of the organizers).

giraffe eating at water's edge - Overall, this is a good day trip from Nairobi. Hell's Gate and the boat ride were enjoyable and scenic. You're able to see several animals on both. NOTE: the Gorges walk is now closed. (That was the main reason I booked this one) They had flash flooding in November 2019 that killed 7 or so people at the Gorges and have since closed it permanently.

On time, great guide - The tour was interesting and almost everything was included. Francis, my tour guide was great. It would be good if they checked if the gorge was closed before we arrived.
