Unique relaxed exploration of a non touristy area - This is a great tour for people interested in retro games, toys, and cartoons. Shino was an excellent tour mixing information about the area with anecdotes about the stores and various characters. There is time to shop, look around, and the vegetarian lunch was an unexpected highlight, where we met an interesting owner who has worked in the area for decades. I'd recommend this to collectors, people who have been to Japan before and want a more relaxed local experience, and even folks interested in something different. I'm not an anime superfan but still really enjoyed it. Shino was very gracious, interesting and fun. I felt like a friend was showing me around the broadway area.

Unique Otaku tour! - Such a unique experience compared to all the other tours we have tried. Shino was friendly and fun. She shared many cool stories about the anime toys and characters from our childhood. We enjoyed so much we asked Shino if she had other tours available!

Amazing tour of a hidden gem. - I had a great time touring around Nakano. There are many vintage and new affordable anime goods. The whole area had an 80's vibe which I was a big fan of. Shino San was very knowledgeable about the area and showed us a lot of cool places. I think it would be fun to come at night as well and try the local bars! All in all a great time!!

10/10 experience! - Hitherejapan tour was absolutely fantastic! nakano was a really great place to visit. she knew of the history and all the hidden gems that you don’t see on the internet :) she introduced us to a super cool themed cafe, and lots of otaku/manga stores with a wide variety of goods that you can’t find overseas. for me, akihabara is too crowded and overpriced these days, so i’m really glad i could be introduced to a place with similar vibes and stores which are much less known! me and my friend were super happy, we would definitely book again :)

Nakano Broadway nostalgic memorabilia - Shino brought us to vintage anime heaven! Friends back home in the Philippines were jealous that we got to explore Nakano broadway. I was so awed that some shops sold original cells from animations like Ghost in the Shell, Ghibli movies, Sailor Moon, among others, and that they cost millions of yen! So many collectible toys and cards and books. You can literally spend hours here just looking at nostalgic memorabilia. Shino is a lovely host and my husband I are happy we got to go on this tour with her!

Personalized Experiences - Everyone goes to Akihabara but fewer go to Nakano, and I’m glad we went. Shino was very kind and a great conversationalist. She was very laid back and we ended up talking about a lot of things about her culture for which I was pleasantly surprised. She showed us lots of little gems of Nakano in the market and gave us great food recommendations. I thought the food options around there were solid and they seemed more affordable. We shared food/drinks with her (on her) and it was one of the more memorable experiences we had on our tours. Wish we had more time to explore Nakano. I definitely recommend this tour with her!

Highly recommend - My family and I were looking for a tour that was off the beaten path. Nakano isn’t an area you typically hear about when people visit but it’s definitely a gem. Shino is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. She recommended some great eateries in Nakano as well as places close to where we were staying. You can find so many vintage collectables walking through the four story building. There is a little for everyone. Our family preferred this over the busy Akihabara. Before leaving, make sure to check out the food on the basement level! I have no complaints and highly recommend this tour.
