Fun, insightful, plant-based ✅✅✅ - We enjoyed Gertrude’s cooking class a lot. Gertrude is a knowledgeable and fun teacher. We talked a lot about the specific ingredients and regional preferences. I love that the food is purely plant based and that we were welcomed into Gertrude’s residence. Thank you!

Ugandan cuisine with soul and heart - The cooking class was fantastic. I was the only guest. The hostess showed me how to peel and steam various vegetables according to Ugandan style, how to make the corresponding sauce from ground nuts and told me a lot about Ugandan cuisine and the country. There was a mango pineapple juice and fresh avocado. From their house you have a wonderful view over Kampale. She is with a lot of heart in the matter that the cooking class was a truly unforgettable experience.

Excellent authentic local experience - My daughter and I had a wonderful time cooking traditional food with Gertrude. She is most informative and hospitable. Hygiene was paramount and we helped prepare the fresh vegetables she had purchased earlier in the day. This was a healthy choice for us as we are vegetarian.
It was a brilliant experience and we highly recommend it. PS her son was on school holidays and he was well-behaved and fun to be around.

great authentic experience - Really enjoyed this whole experience, the lessons learned for Getrude about the traditional cooking as she learned from childhood, the stories about living in Uganda and off course tasting the delicious food!

Highly recommend - Fun morning with Gertrude and her son.
I helped prepare the ingredients. Gertrude explained how to cook the vegetables. The G-Nut Sauce was the best!!! Some of the best local cuisine I have tasted.
A big plus- the view from their place is amazing. Photo op while the food is cooking.
If you have a couple of hours to spare, I highly recommend

Fun Cooking Class with Munira in Kampala - We recently took part in Munira's cooking class in Kampala and it was an amazing experience! Getting there was a convenient and easy – we met up at the Kasubi Tombs and after a short walk, we arrived at Munira's cozy home.
The class was super hands-on. We got right into peeling, chopping, and learning the local cooking methods, like how to steam food in banana leaves. Munira was great at making everything fun and easy to understand.
The best part? The food we made! We cooked up a feast with Gnut sauce, Matooke, greens, Pumpkin, Cassava, sweet potato, and even had some yummy passionfruit juice. It all tasted incredible.
Throughout the class, we had loads of laughs and interesting chats with Munira.
For anyone in Kampala, we highly recommend this class. It's a perfect mix of fun, learning, and delicious food. Can't wait to try these recipes at home!!

Great experience - We have had a great cooking class. It was really hard to cut the vegetables at the way they do it in Uganda.
The food was very nice and the view over Kampala marvelous.
