Beatufiul day at the countryside of Kyoto by bike - We were very warmly welcomed by our guide Maki. I booked a cycling tour (by the way, the e-bikes are very relaxing to cycle with) because we also wanted to see the countryside of Japan during our stay in Kyoto, away from the hustle and bustle. We went to a temple where students come to pray for a good result for their final exams. We cycled to a gate and wall of an old castle, and then we went up the Mario Mountain. Along rice fields, the river and through forests we cycled to another beautiful wooden temple and then had a delicious lunch in an authentic Japanese restaurant nearby. During the day, Maki told us all kinds of interesting Japanese customs and facts. Once back at the starting point, Maki gave us a lesson in playing the Koto. It was a very nice experience, I highly recommend it. And Maki is such a nice person, she does everything for you to have the best experience in Nantan, Sonobe ever. Thank you Maki!

Wonderful experience with friendly hosts! - Such a lovely experience cycling around Sonobe! You can customise your tour and we chose to do Mario mountain, two of the shrines, soba noodle making and listening to/playing koto (traditional Japanese instrument). I can really recommend all of the above! We let our hosts know when booking that we were vegan and they were able to cater for us with this which we really appreciated. Maki and Yassu were wonderful hosts, so friendly and informative and it was lovely to get a sense of the town and its history from local people who obviously have a lot of love for this beautiful area! So many thoughtful touches along our journey, we felt so well cared for and really enjoyed our day.

An Absolutely Worthwhile Cycling Adventure - This was my first bike tour ever which was also in Japan, and also my first time exploring the Japanese countryside. I took the option of doing the Mount Mario Exploration, which is a worth while small hike through the forest on Mt. Komugi, to see one of the caves Shigeru Miyamoto used as inspiration for the Zelda dungeon. My guide Maki was very pleasant and understanding. For lunch I chose "Course B", which was the local produce being served at a traditional Japanese House turned restaurant. I definitely recommend this bike tour for anyone staying in the Kyoto area and exploring the picturesque countryside.

Very Recommended! - I was feeling amazing with the tour! I went with my other 3 friends and the guide was very excited to accompany us! We went on 6 hours tour, with lots of activities. Cycling, going to make soba, eating lunch, going to an old Japanese restaurant and eating a very delicious strawberry sundae, and lastly wearing Kimono! My friends and I enjoyed the whole trip and a really good experience. It is very recommended!

Delicious soba! - My family and I participated in the soba noodle cooking. The instructors were very kind, and at the end we were able to eat delicious soba! The buckwheat flour was organic and harvested in the field nearby. Kids were so impressed that they could make soba noodles by themselves. Thank you for organizing such a wonderful event.
