Journey from Nairobi to Samburu

Equator Marker - Guests will be collected from their Nairobi hotel or the airport and will set off for Samburu at 6:00 am. The journey will take approximately 6 hours. There will be a stop along the way to admire Mount Kenya with its snow-capped peaks and the equator at Nanyuki.

Upon arrival at the Samburu Sopa Lodge, guests will check in and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, they will embark on their first game drive in an open-roof vehicle, with opportunities to see Grevy zebras, reticulated giraffes, gerenuks, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs.

In the evening, guests will return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Full Day in Samburu National Reserve

Samburu National Reserve - An early morning game drive will be followed by breakfast back at the camp. After breakfast, guests will enjoy a full-day game drive with packed lunch boxes, offering unlimited wildlife viewing. There is a chance to see unique species such as oryx, gerenuk, Gravy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, and other wildlife native to this semi-arid region.

Game drives will take place along the Ewaso Nyiro River, where most wildlife is found. Guests will also have the opportunity to observe various bird species in the reserve.

In the evening, guests will enjoy a delicious dinner and spend another night at the camp, soaking in the magical atmosphere of the reserve.

Return from Samburu to Nairobi

Samburu National Reserve - The day begins with an early morning game drive, providing a chance to witness the vibrant wildlife activity at its best. After the game drive, guests will return to the camp for a hearty buffet breakfast. Later, they will depart for Mararal Town for drop-off.

This will mark the end of a remarkable safari experience at Samburu National Reserve, leaving guests with treasured memories of wildlife encounters and the natural splendor of the reserve.
