Be very clear about the itinerary and the timing. - While Kevin was knowledgeable and very polite, The listing was not clear that it was 100% the client’s responsibility to call and organize the tasting reservations. Luckily, I figured that out the day before when I was asked if I had arranged the itinerary. So I made the calls and figured it out on my own with the list of wineries that Kevin sent me on Friday. That morning as we got into the car, I was presented with an invoice to sign, part of which included a mandatory 20% tip. The 20% tip was in the listing as a not included item along with the supplemental furl charge, but we were not told it was mandatory to be paid in advance. I had done my best to arrange the itinerary based on his suggestions and after the first winery when I said we’re probably not going to want to go to the third winery Kevin said “oh it’s no problem you have booked me for six hours”. Instead of telling us the reservation we made for the third tasting started one hour before the end of our time with him and thus in order to finish that tasting and then drive back to our hotel we would incur extra time. He never mentioned that until we arrived at our hotel and he pulled out a form for me to sign for an additional $90 for the extra hour. I gave him notice in advance that I would be leaving this review. He said it was my responsibility to understand better the organization of the tour. I’m writing this not because of the money so much as the principle of not explaining in advance and then taking advantage of unclear instructions Buyer beware.
