- Black Barn Vineyards - This is your starting point. You will be set up on your bike (choose an e-bike for extra cruisey riding) and be given a briefing on the route before you set off, cycling at your own pace to enjoy the scenery and visits to the various wineries along the way.
Your adventure starts at Black Barn winery - chose to stay and soak in the atmosphere with a chilled out wine tasting. Visit the Kitchen Shop and pick up some deli goodies to take with you along the way as nibbles.
- Te Mata Estate Winery & Vineyards - OPTION Wine Tasting. Established in 1896, Te Mata Estate remains family owned, producing internationally recognized wines exclusively from its Hawke’s Bay vineyards. Well worth a stop to taste their wines.
- Clearview Estate Winery - OPTION Wine Tasting and lunch. Clearview Estate rustic cellar door greets you with a friendly warm welcome. Leave with a fabulous bottle or two of their acclaimed wines, or a few cases for your cellar! Lunch available here - bookings highly recommended during the summer months. Open every day till 5pm during the summer.
- Elephant Hill - OPTION Wine Tasting. By now you’ll be ready to taste some more fine wine at Elephant Hill known for its spectacular location and buildings.
- Te Awanga Estate Vineyard - Shuttle meeting point 4pm. A very relaxed vineyard where you can enjoy a wine tasting and a pizza on their lawn. Sundays see live music and a great chilled out atmosphere. This is where you will meet our van at 4pm and be transported back to your starting point.

We take you (and your bike) at 10am out to Havelock North to the starting point of your journey at Black Barn Vineyard. This trail cycles past 6-7 award-winning wineries along a 16km stretch of easy and scenic cycle pathways.
Meet our van at the last winery at the stunning Cape Kidnappers for a 4pm transfer back to the start. A truly memorable experience enjoying the best wineries of Hawke’s Bay on a bike!
- At the time of booking please advise your height so we can allocate the correct sized bikes for you.
- NOTE: tour starts with a 10am shuttle from our base in Napier to the first winery and a 4pm shuttle from the last winery back to Napier.
- Opening hours at wineries vary, we will advise you where possible
- Please note that wineries charge for tastings (this is not included). The charge is around NZ$10-20 per person and is usually rebated against any purchases

Great activity - It was such a fun day with great staff. Relatively easy on the e-bikes. Only thing I didn’t realise is that you don’t have time to go to every winery. Highly recommend Askerne for lunch.

Great fun and good wines. - Very good fun, e-bikes make it very easy to cover the distance. We went to five out of the six vineyards and the tastings were all different and very good. Some excellent wines. Emails about needing to book some of the tastings, and food, could have come a little earlier, as we were travelling and could not reply or book in advance.
Our guides were very clear with their instructions on the journey out to the start, so our getting slightly lost was down to our lapses in concentration. Would definitely do it again.

What a great day! - What a fantastic tour!! This was the best day we had Ebiking around Napier from one winery to the next. The company was super responsive and helpful making the trip a great experience. Highly recommend this tour!

Nice cycling - Very good bikes, good maps nice trip. No way to fit in 6 wineries. Some were closed luckily. Would be good if they had a pick up in the main town for ship tourists

Hawkes bay cycle. - Good value and lovely comfy bikes. Great friendly service from Raymond and lots of advice on where to go. We had no problems on our cycle but it was great to know that Raymond was always available as backup. Highly recommended.

Wines and bikes in beautiful surroundings - what’s not to love? - So glad we booked this - was provided with a helpful map and bikes set up according to height at the start of the route.
We got to experience and take in some lovely winery’s and got to taste many of the local wines in beautiful surroundings.
One small draw back for us was the Te Mata winery, it felt quite ‘salesy’ as we were cramped to a small room and told to go outside and wait by the cows whilst others finished up. That thankfully didn’t have enough of an impact on the overall experience.
The other winery’s (Clearview, Askerne, Black Barn) were incredible. Overall, we couldn’t recommend this enough.

Cycling & wine tasting. What’s not to like. - Organised by Karen who was informative & she had a great sense of humour. The e-bikes were great & the provided route map straight forward to follow.

Cycling through wine country - Top rate equipment, service and wineries. Rodger drove us to and from the tour start and finish and provided knowledgeable commentary along the way

Beautiful country - The good news first: e-bikes were in great condition and the trails are beautiful. Really nice. That’s important since this is more a bike ride than a wine tour. And it was a real experience.
The bad news: some wineries are not open seven days; the route is confusing and the map handed out is more representational than literal (we got lost) and the weather is definitely relevant. It rained lightly for most of our ride.
Be sure to note that wine is not included in the price so count on spending saying $50NZ+ more than the cost of the trip.

Great day out, fanatic sights and wine. - E bikes were fantastic, communication was great. Amazing way to be out and about, see the lovely Hakes Bay and drink some fabulous wine. Retry much flat all the way. The 6 hrs flew by. Would highly recommend for a day out.
