Enjoy a scenic rafting experience down grade 2 rapids while being serenaded by birdsong. The trip includes a captivating narrative on the area’s history, spanning 80 million years, from pre-European times with local Maori to the recent past and present. This activity is perfect for families, as children can safely swim down the river and enjoy the fresh water. Grade 2 rapids are exciting yet gentle, so if you prefer to stay dry, you can opt not to jump in. Photos of your journey are available either mailed to you or on our Facebook page at no cost. A homemade light lunch is provided afterward before returning to your ship or exploring Napier’s Art Deco buildings. We aim to have everyone back on board your ship 2 hours before departure.
All safety and rafting equipment is provided; just bring swimwear if desired, a towel, and sunscreen.

Rafting with young kids - Very Fun experience - the kids had a great time on the raft. Be prepared to get splashed. Make sure to get there on time if disembarking from a cruise.

Fun and Calm - It was a lot of fun! We did wish, however, that the rapids were more challenging. There was a tour with more challenging rapids, but it did not have the free cancellation feature.

It was great, only... - It was great, only recommendation I would make is to take bug spray. Black flies and mosquitoes really like me, and there were plenty of black flies, so lots of bites.

Rafting on the River Mild - It was a great experience. Deon was terrific. We had a lot of fun. Water is very mild so Deon added to the excitement.

River rafting - Great family that hosted us. The river was low BUT we had some real good rapids and the guides were entertaining. Great lunch afterwards. Very nice afternoon. Highly recommend. You’ll have fun.

Amazing Experience! Must try in Napier - Amazing Experience!!! I 100% recommend trying this excursion while in Napier. We were fortunate to be lead by the owner of the company and he was super personable and made the trip very enjoyable. At the end of the rafting we were greeted by his wife who had a selection of sandwiches and chips available for us that were all delicious. Overall if you’re looking for a bit of fun hosted by great people in Napier I recommend trying this.

Great Time, Great Guide, Great Adventure - Deon was a wonderful guide and made the trip down the river so much fun with his sense of humor and knowledge about the area. This is definitely something I would do again next time we are in New Zealand.

What a fun day out - What a great experience. Our boat guide Lottie was outstanding. Clear instructions given and very patient with us,very knowledgeable about the river and was excellent at reading the river. Deon is a character but made the trip more fun. David our guide on the bus was very good. Overall a five star trip
