A Day in the Wild: Embracing Nature’s Wonders

As a professional surfer, I’ve spent countless days riding the waves and soaking up the sun along the stunning coastlines of Central America. But every now and then, I like to trade my surfboard for a different kind of adventure. This time, my journey took me to the lush rainforests of Naranjito, Costa Rica, where I had the chance to experience the KSTR Re-Wilding Center like never before.

The day began with a scenic drive from Manuel Antonio, where my wife and I were staying. The anticipation of what lay ahead was palpable as we wound our way through the verdant landscape. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the warm smiles of the staff and the sounds of the jungle. The guided tour was a perfect introduction to the sanctuary, offering insights into the incredible work being done to rescue and rehabilitate the local wildlife. From sloths to monkeys, each animal had a story, and it was heartening to see the dedication of the team in giving them a second chance.
