Unforgivable experience !!! - The tour was AMAZING! We were lucky enough to be alone and have the time to ask a lot of questions and observe the animals. We made them enrichments and food. The guides were super knowledgeable and nice. Always taking the time to answer any questions we might have. A big thank you!

highly reccomend - It was a fantastic activity for people of all ages. We first got a thorough tour of all the animals in the sanctuary, and then prepared their food and enrichments, and gave the animals there food and water. Then we had a break where they served lunch suitable for kids and adults, and rested for a bit. Then, we made tamales(with fruits inside) and other food for the animals. We also collected the animals food, and even got to arrange the sloth habitat! We gave the animals there and got to go in there enclosures. It was very fun and cool to help all the cute animals and is a great activity for animal lovers!

Fantastic! - A truly Immersive experience into the conservation of Costa Rica’s amazing wildlife. Experiencing a day in the life of a keeper allows you to learn so much about the animals in their care and get up close encounters with these amazing animals. Thank you to the team of staff and other volunteers for making myself and my husband feel so welcome and teaching us so much, a truly memorable experience.

An Experience of a Lifetime! - Highly recommend a day of volunteering at this fantastic facility, especially if you love animals and want once in a lifetime experience. This is a nonprofit organization that relies on donations and volunteering. We were the only two day volunteers, so had a private tour of the facility with our fantastic guide, Adrienne. After seeing the animals that they nursed back to health, but cannot be turned back into the wild, we saw their deep love for what they do. Had a fabulous home-cooked meal and lunch break, then our work consisted of chopping fruits and vegetables and measuring them into stainless steel bowls for the afternoon feeding of the sanctuary animals. We then got to help deliver the bowls of food to the various enclosures, my husband got to go in and put the bowls of food in for the Scarlet macaws and I got to put the food in for one of the sloths, my heart melted seeing these beautiful creatures. Beware that you are not allowed to touch the animals, they are still wild animals. Bring a raincoat as we did have some light rain and wear shoes you can get muddy, and be prepared to walk. This would not be advisable for those with mobility issues, the buildings are kind of far apart, and it's not level and it's gravel. I would highly encourage anyone with older children, who love animals to look into doing this, at no time will you be so close to a capuchin monkey or a sloth or a scarlet macaw except for in a zoo. Even if you can't make the day trip, please go to the website and read about what they do and consider making a donation towards the veterinary care and upkeep of these rescued animals. This was one of the highlights of our entire Costa Rica trip. If you want something besides the typical zip line and walk-through Manuel Antonio Park, and like a little adventure and love animals, this is the place for you!

KSTR - An unforgettable experience! We really loved the place, we were given a very complete information of each animal in the sanctuary. My friends and I will be back in the near future. My favorite animal was the sloth named "Mr. Donut." Very sad every case of why the animals came to the sanctuary but I am very glad that they have a better life at KSTR.

Save the sloths! - I loved the sloths!!! You can't see the rehab ones but there were plenty in the sanctuary to look at. The poor injured monkeys that can't be released. Birds rescued from the pet trade. Loved all of them
