Unforgetable experience, worth every peny, highly recomended, our guide was extraordinary nice and professional - I highly recommend Axis Safari Travel for an incredible safari experience. Despite a few payment issues, the team was very understanding and accommodating. They confirmed my booking without hesitation and allowed me to settle the payment at the time of departure, which was a huge relief.
The safari itself was an unforgettable adventure, absolutely worth every penny. A special mention goes to our guide, John Mwangi, whose passion for his job was evident throughout the trip. He was not only kind and professional but also an exceptional driver who prioritized our safety at all times.
John’s keen eyesight was truly remarkable—he spotted hidden animals long before anyone else in the group noticed them. He went above and beyond to get us as close as possible to the wildlife, creating amazing opportunities for us to see the animals up close. If you want to see lions from the shortest possible distance, John is undoubtedly the guide to request.

Best Safari Guide - We met Peter at the Axis Office near the airport and from the start he was informative and friendly. Peter drove exceptionally well throughout the trip and on our long way to and back from the park we made interesting pit stops for snacks and loo breaks.
Peter was an excellent guide during the safari - prompt, reliable and incredibly knowledgeable about the wide range of wildlife in the park including the many birds. He was sensitive to all the requirements of the group and we could not fault his talent and commitment to the Safari drives in any way. My husband and I have travelled extensively in Africa and Peter was among the best Safari guides we have ever experienced.

Great game viewing with an outstanding guide - We went with Axis Africa Safaris, which proved an efficient organisation who were able to meet the dates we had available at short notice. They made clear what options there were and provided a detailed account of the programme, and of what was included, and what was not included. It was a well thought through schedule, and went to plan.
We did the 3 day budget tour in the Masai Mara and reckoned it good value for money, although you should be aware that the journey there and back takes many hours. On the main, middle day we saw a great variety of game, at close quarters, including 4 of the big 5 (Rhino's are scarce in the MM). Our guide, Peter, was excellent, and very knowledgeable. He clearly had good relationships with many of the other guides, which meant he was informed of sitings and was able to get us to see the maximum range of animals. He was also amongst the best at manoeuvring our vehicle into the optimal position for viewing, and persisted beyond the usual ending time so that we could see a Cheetah.
We thought the food provided was good. Being a budget, tented tour, the accommodation is obviously basic, and only cash could be used for drinks and local crafts. Our one reservation about our tour was that we were not convinced that the extra we paid for a small upgrade in terms of the camp we stayed at was worthwhile.

Amazing time in Masai Mara - My party of 6 had an amazing time in Masai Mara. It was everyone’s first safari and I don’t think we could have asked for a better experience.
We had a great time in the park and saw far more animals than I had expected - multiple groups of lions, elephants and baboons, a leopard, a cheetah, and altogether everything I think we could have realistically expected to see.
The camp where we stayed was basic, but clean and safe. There was consistent power and hot water, and the food (including for vegetarians/vegans in our party) was delicious every meal.
Peter, our guide, brought the whole thing together. He was knowledgeable and prepared throughout the trip, and well-connected to other guides to find animal sightings (but also had an incredibly keen eye himself). Outside of the park, he got us through both the Nairobi traffic and bumpy backroads with ease.
When there was an issue (due to my error) with overpayment, the office team was very helpful and resolved it as soon as they were able.

OUTSTANDING - Peter provided an excellent service from start to finish. His great driving skills kept us on track no matter the terrain. When we entered the masi Mara park he ensured we had plenty of time to soak in each animal, learn about it and worked tirelessly to ensure we saw as much as possible! I kept note of as many animals as possible and counted 45 in just one day! Including lions, lionesses and cubs, elephants, hyena, zebra, cheater, baboons, leopard, giraffe and rainbow birds. We couldn’t have asked for more. Peter found us a spot by the river to eat lunch while watching the hippo and crocodile. The accommodation was lovely, food was outstanding and vegan inclusive!
Would book again in a heartbeat!
