Highlights
  • Mt. Fuji 5th Station - Situated at 2,300 meters above sea level, the Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station provides a stunning view of the Fuji Five Lakes area below, making it a popular destination even for those not planning to climb the mountain.

Entrance fees are 2,100¥ per group.

  • Lake Kawaguchiko - Lake Kawaguchiko has an elevation of about 830 meters, resulting in cool summers and icy winters. The area around Lake Kawaguchiko offers various activities.

You can enjoy a ship cruise or a ropeway cable car ride, but these cost an additional 1,000¥ per person.

There are many restaurants around Lake Kawaguchiko where you can have lunch.

  • Chureito Pagoda - The Chureito Pagoda (忠霊塔, Chūreitō) is a five-story pagoda on a mountainside overlooking Fujiyoshida City and Mount Fuji. It is part of the Arakura Sengen Shrine and was built as a peace memorial in 1963, nearly 400 steps up from the shrine’s main buildings.

To visit, you need to climb approximately 400 steps, offering beautiful views of the mountains and the shrine.

  • Oishi Park - Oishi Park, located on the north shore of Kawaguchiko, offers a magnificent view of both the lake and Mt. Fuji.
  • Oshino Hakkai - Oshino Hakkai is a small, traditional Japanese village in the Fuji Five Lake region, situated between Lake Kawaguchiko and Lake Yamanakako. It is located on the site of a former sixth lake that dried up several hundred years ago. The eight ponds are fed by snowmelt from Mount Fuji, which filters through porous lava layers for over 80 years, resulting in exceptionally clear spring water revered by locals. You can drink fresh spring water from Mt. Fuji here.

If the weather is good, you can get a close view of Mt. Fuji.

  • Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Jinja Shrine - Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine is one of about 1,300 Asama shrines in Japan that enshrine the deity of volcanoes, particularly Mount Fuji. The shrine is part of the Mt. Fuji UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, designated in 2013.

Asama shrines are dedicated to Konohanasakuya-hime (“cherry blossom princess”), the goddess of Mt. Fuji and all volcanoes in Japanese mythology. Most Asama shrines are within sight of Mt. Fuji; where this is not possible due to distance or obstructions, miniature replicas of Mt. Fuji made from the mountain’s rocks are erected within the shrine grounds.

Wonderful Tour of places of interest around Mt. Fuji. Knowledgeable Guide. - Our driver and guide was Malik Usman. He was very knowledgeable with the sights and locations that we went. Unfortunately, that day was cloudy with drizzling rain, so we could not see Mount Fuji. But the trip to other locations was very memorable with so many goodies and photos. Other surprise was we had a Toyota Velfire for a family of three. This is very spacious and comfortable for such a long ride from Tokyo. Malik was accommodating to our request for numerous photoshoots and other requests. A definite recommendation. Thank you to Malik and the team at Nihon Horizon Tour.

Wonderful time seeing the beauty of Mt Fuji and Hakone! - This day trip was the perfect way to take a break from the crowds in Tokyo and experience the beauty surrounding Mt. Fuji. Kamal took great care of our family of four, including two sons ages 18 and 21. We were lucky to get beautiful views of Mt Fuji despite the rain happening when we departed Tokyo Bay. We loved the cable car ride and learning about the black egg! Our guide was kind enough to stop at a shop my son hoped to visit in Hakone, making this a memorable day our family will treasure always!

Great Tour With a Great Guide - Yousaf was our driver, and he was a great help. He pointed out Mt. Fuji to us despite it being covered by clouds, and virtually unseen, so he really knew the area. When we were at Lake Kawaguchiko, he pointed out some other interesting things, and even took photos for us, and they were great photos too! He was also very patient with us when we were running a little late to return to the vehicle. We loved the trip, and are very grateful that Yousaf was our tour guide.

Mount Fuji day trip with family - We are in a large group for 13 people travelling from Tokyo on a day trip to my Fuji. Ezar the tour operator arrange everything for us from pick up from our hotel and drop off to Mt Fuji hotel at the end of the trip. They organised for two cars for us to carry our small luggage. Our guide was knowledgeable and passionate about the region. They provided insightful commentary about Mount Fuji’s history and cultural significance, Lake Kawaguchi, and a beautiful traditional village. making the trip educational as well as enjoyable. The journey to and from Mount Fuji was smooth and pleasant. Thank you Ezar and driver.

Japan tour to Mount Fuji - On a scale of one to 10 I give the experience a 2. Tour guide did not pick us up at designated location and several calls had to be made resulting an hour and a half delay, having to cut the day short In order to make evening commitments. When asking for a credit, tour company denied with no justification. Viator is using a third-party to schedule and process these tours. Communication is the worst I’ve ever seen with no resolution..
