Highlights
  • Mt. Fuji 5th Station - Located 2300 meters above sea level, Mt. Fuji 5th Station offers a close-up view of Mt. Fuji, weather permitting. It features numerous souvenir shops for a delightful shopping experience. This is an ideal spot for climbers aiming to reach the summit of Mt. Fuji. The climbing season runs from early July 14 to September 10. During the hiking season, access to the 5th Station is restricted, and visitors must take a shuttle bus costing ¥2100 per person.

  • Chureito Pagoda - The Chureito Pagoda (忠霊塔, Chūreitō) is a five-story pagoda situated on a mountainside overlooking Fujiyoshida City and Mount Fuji in the distance. Part of the Arakura Sengen Shrine, it was built as a peace memorial in 1963 and is located nearly 400 steps up the mountain from the shrine’s main buildings.

  • Lake Kawaguchiko - Lake Kawaguchiko offers numerous dining options for lunch. With a surface elevation of approximately 830 meters, the lake enjoys cool summers and icy winters. Visitors can enjoy a ship cruise or a ropeway cable car ride, with each costing ¥1000 per person.

  • Oshino Hakkai - Oshino Hakkai (忍野八海) is a set of eight scenic ponds in Oshino, a small village in the Fuji Five Lake region. Located between Lake Kawaguchiko and Lake Yamanakako, these ponds are fed by snowmelt from Mount Fuji, filtered through porous lava layers for over 80 years, resulting in exceptionally clear spring water. A close view of Mt. Fuji is possible if weather conditions are favorable.

  • Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nemba - This picturesque spot features old Japanese houses with straw roofs, set against the backdrop of Mt. Fuji. Visitors can explore local crafts and meet artists. Rental kimonos and samurai armor are available.

  • Oishi Park - Located on the north shore of Kawaguchiko, Oishi Park offers a stunning view of both the lake and Mt. Fuji.

  • Fuji-Q Highland - Fuji-Q Highland is an amusement park in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi, Japan, operated by Fuji Kyuko Co. It opened on March 2, 1968, and is situated near the base of Mount Fuji.

  • Mount Fuji - The final point accessible by car on Mt. Fuji. Visits to the 5th Station are weather-dependent. During the hiking season, access to the 5th Station is restricted, and visitors must take a shuttle bus costing ¥2500 per person.

  • Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Jinja Shrine - Also known as the Fujiyoshida Sengen Shrine, this is the main Sengen Shrine on the north side of Mt. Fuji. Established in CE 100, it is dedicated to Konohanasakuya-hime, the Shinto goddess of Mt. Fuji. The shrine has a rich history and has significantly influenced the development of Shintoism in Japan.

Almost Perfect!! - Overall, it was a fantastic experience! Navigating this trip without a guide would have been challenging, but Malik made everything much easier. He also provided valuable insights about the places we visited. The only downside was that we couldn’t see Mount Fuji due to the clouds, but everything else was almost perfect.

Not a full-guided tour but still a great experience - Raza was a great guide, and it was really nice to have the private tour pick us up from our hotel, because we were a bit far from Tokyo city proper. The van was clean, comfortable, and air conditioned! Thank God! Because it was so hot when we went. For the pagoda, 5th Station, and Lake Kawaguchi, he took us there and dropped us off. But for the hot springs area he walked us through, explained things and it was great.

Great sightseeing tour for family of 4, value for money and plenty of opportunity for seeing what we wanted ! - Usman was an excellent for the day. He allowed us to walk around and take our time, he suggestions for our day were very fun and good places that we went to with our children aged 11 and 14 yrs. Even though the weather wasn’t favourable for seeing the peak of Mount Fuji - all for of us had a memorable day with some fabulous photos

Great trip to Mt Fuji! - The trip to Mt Fuji was really nice. Our driver/ guide Malik W took us around Mt Fuji area. He was attentive and asked us what we wanted to see. He gave us a good idea of what the day would be like and had good recommendations. Although we were not able to see the top of Mt Fuji (bc of the weather), it was still a great trip. The highlight for us was the speed boat ride on Lake Kawaguchi. I would highly recommend this trip!

Fuji very weather dependent - Trip was ok. Unfortunately due to traffic driver was almost an hour late. Took us almost three hours to get to the first stop, mt Fuji 5th station. Saw that then went to the village for some food and shopping. Then the rain rolled in and we got only one more stop in, shrine, before we called it a day and then headed back to Tokyo. Expect half of your time on the trip to be in the van

Tour paid but not taken due to poor communication - We did not take the tour due to poor communication on the part of the tour operator. Details of pickup (8 am) were confirmed prior to our card being charged, but then after the charge was made, the pickup time changed to 6:30 am. Tour operator reached out the evening before and said because of a holiday, traffic would be awful so we needed to leave by 6:30 am. We declined as we already had late night plans the evening before at which time they told us we would be in traffic 3-4 hours each way leaving little time to enjoy the destinations. Apparently, the holiday extended the entire week (again, no idea) and the rest of our time here is already scheduled out, so we had to cancel with the tour operator. Apparently, they didn’t notify Viator because I just received a request for a review. What should have happens was notification when we booked a long time ago that this is a holiday week and maybe we would want to schedule for a different week or day. That would have been easy to work around. As it stands now, we paid for a trip that we could not take due to poor communication from the tour operator. We would gladly have taken a credit for a tour on a future visit to Tokyo but that wasn’t offered.

Unfit Guide - Seeing my Fuji was great. Driver was definitely not a guide, unfriendly, no knowledge about the tour and places visited. He does not initiate any conversation and when asked any question he was never sure about the answers. Minivan with poor air-conditioning often times hot air. Driver coughs without covering mouth and generally poor hygiene. Did not ask where we would like to eat lunch but pretty much took us to an Indian restaurant that he was obviously associated with. Overall would not recommend this driver. He was securely not a guide. 1 star is for his driving as he got us there safe and back but 0 otherwise. He should not be doing this job
