• Owaku-dani Valley - This popular tourist site is known for its scenic views, volcanic activity, and kuro-tamago (“black egg”) — a local specialty of hard-boiled eggs prepared using the hot springs. The eggshells turn black due to the mineral-rich, sulfuric waters of the valley, and consuming one is said to add seven years to your life.
