A great was to spend the afternoon - The exploration was a lot of fun. Our guide told us a lot about the local forest and the history of the cave. Even though the rocky paths can be dangerous, I felt very safe following our guide's footsteps. We also got to take a bunch of pictures in and out of the cave.

Fun and unique activity! - My husband and I traveled from Tokyo to Mt Fuji for this tour on the train. We met our guide Toshi at the station. We were the only two on the tour, so it was a private tour. Toshi stopped at a park before the entrance to the forest so we could use the restroom and take photos in front of Mt Fuji. Then we headed to the forest where, again, we were the only people there. Toshi explained all the trees, mushrooms and wildlife to us as we passed them. When we got to the cave, the real adventure began! We climbed down a stone wall to the cave entrance below. Then another ladder climb, and we were in. Once inside, our head lamps lit the way as we took in the ice and cave structures. Toshi was an excellent guide, showing us where to walk and explaining what the different features of the cave were. He also took 30+ photos for us, which he later air dropped after the tour. We also got to see his album of photos he’s taken of the different animals in the forest. Once we wrapped up, he dropped us back at the station so we could catch a train back. (Note: the buses were all sold out and so was the next express train so you may want to book your travel back to Tokyo in advance.) This tour was such a memorable experience, and we will cherish it for the rest of our lives. 10 out of 10!

Wonderful Forest/Cave Experience! - Takashi-san was a wonderful guide, we learned so much about the ecology of the forest! Aokigahara and the caves are really so beautiful and peaceful, there’s nothing like it anywhere in the world! Also, it’s not that difficult of a hike- but there is a little bit of climbing to do. ❤️

A wonderful time - Omori san was a very funny and entertaining guide. He had a lot of knowledge on the area and various insights and stories. The forest itself was serene and beautiful. Exploring the cave was very cool and unlike anything we had done before.

Ice cave and trail walk - The cave is a quick walk from the parking area, the guide (Toshi) talked about the animals and plants in the forest. He was so knowledgeable about the wildlife and plants. The way down to the cave is not strenuous but you have to take your time (I’m over 50). The cave itself is smaller but is a wonderful experience because of the ice and type of rock inside. Well worth the time and money.

Great experience but beware of physical activity level - I personally loved this tour. The guide was very informative about human.and natural history and provided a wonderful outing. One big thing of not is the forest walk isn't too intensive, but the cave has a lot of large, rocky terrain. It was certainly too much for one person in our party who is much older and not particularly active. It was a great activity otherwise but please consider the physical aspect before booking! I would rate the physical activity as a medium or a 3.5 out of 5.
