Great Tour and Excellent tour guide! - Tada was an excellent tour guide, very friendly and easy to talk to! He was very knowledgeable about Aokigohara forest and its many ice caves. Tada picked us up from our hotel and took us for a hike through the tranquil, stunning Aokigohara forest. From there we descended into the ice caves, learning the history of how the caves were created, and what the cave had been used for throughout history. This was truly a once in a lifetime experience and I couldn't have been happier with our tour!

Both Aokigahara and the... - Both Aokigahara and the ice cave were stunning. The cave requires a bit of maneuvering around and through rocks, which can be tricky/daunting, especially if your shoes don't have any grip. So glad we decided to book this. Our guide was well informed and passionate about the area, which showed through his interactions with the group. I appreciated his candor, humor and knowledge. Would happily book again, highly highly recommend

An amazing experience... - An amazing experience with the best guide, Tadasuke. I thought the tour was going to be brief but there was a pleasant hike and cave spelunking! The cave lived up to its name—Ice Cave. Truly a unique adventure.

Must-do experience! - Such a fantastic experience with Toshi, one of the highlights of our trip so far. Toshi is very knowledgeable about the caves/forest and gave lots of information and answered all of our questions. Hotel pickup was very convenient, and we were lucky enough to be the only people who signed up for our time so ended up on a private tou! The tour was very interesting and the caves were stunning - there is really no way for photos to do them justice. Toshi was even nice enough to take photos for us! Some climbing/scrambling required so likely not a good fit for those with mobility restrictions. In our opinion, this is a must do if you’re in the area!

Amazing cave with beautiful ice stalagmites and stalactites - Tada was a wonderful guide. He grew up in Kawaguchiko and is quite the outdoorsman. We went March 21 and there was quite a bit of snow on the ground walking to the cave and the cave itself was quite icy in many spots. He got us through safely but it was work. Tennis shoes were totally fine, even with the snow and ice. The end of the cave had a cavern filled with ice stalactites and stalagmites which was so beautiful. There was also a large round hole in the ceiling which he said was from a tree getting trapped in the lava and the wood disappeared, leaving the hole. He was full of fascinating facts and pointed out tracks in the snow from a fox. He told us the ice is best from end of March/early April with no ice in the fall and winter so we were happy we saw it. This might've been my husband's favorite activity in Japan so far.

Don't rely on the start time in excursion details - The excursion listing should update the meeting details to an accurate meeting time. The start time is set to 9am. We received a text 11 days in advance telling us the meeting time was 8:20 to 8:30. I got a call at 8:17 asking where we were and that they would not be waiting for us and told us not to come. We could have made it during the scheduled meet time, but were not given the option.
