Best Heritage Walk I Attended!! - I met Amrita early in the morning for the Heritage Walk. We spent some time at the Kala Ram Temple, where she shared with me the history and architecture of Nashik. I loved how she flawlessly narrated the story of thousands of years, from the coming of the Buddhist monks in the region to the princely states that ruled Nashik. The architecture of the temples and the city generally made sense once she provided a context.
We then walked through the Panchavati lanes and visited other temples and ghats. The old wadas are worth visiting. The narrow roads through which we were walking were all painted with images from the Ramayana. She also shared with me the history of Rahaad, a special type of Holi celebration that happens in Nashik, which I want to attend in the future. Our tour ended at the State Archaeology Museum.
The way rituals were performed, and the socio-economic composition of the ghat felt way more meaningful when Amrita informed me about the cultural codes and structures that the society is based upon in Nashik.
We also had tea, the famous Nashik Misal Paav, and pakoras in the market. It was an enjoyable and personalized walking tour. If you are visiting Nashik, definitely take part in the tour to grasp the real beauty and meaning behind this historic city.

Mystical and Enchanting Walk with a Storyteller - Amrita - I booked this tour the previous night at 10pm. I’m glad I made the right choice.
I always start a new city with a walking tour to get better acquainted. However this walk at Nashik is nothing like I experience before. I felt closer, intimate, disturbed, confused and mostly elated. The chai and misal pav tied everything together nicely with warmth, spice and stories.
Amrita is a master storyteller that combine the whimsical world of words, trees, temples, rivers, fortune tellers and fig trees. I have a new found appreciation for trees. I seek them out wherever my eyes look. To know their history, roots and passion.
It was privilege to take this journey with you, Amrita. I wish you and Nashik all the luck in the world.

Enriching Heritage Walk Experience - I am delighted that we chose to participate in the Heritage walk. Amrita is exceptionally knowledgeable, providing a wealth of information encompassing both facts and folklore, offering a comprehensive understanding of the subject. She goes beyond conventional narratives, adding a captivating layer to the experience. Additionally, from the moment I booked the walk until we met, Amrita maintained just the right amount of communication to keep me well-informed. If you have an interest in history, I wholeheartedly recommend this experience. It was a well-spent 2.5 hours.

Do It In Nashik - Amrita was the best guide we have had in India. Her knowledge of the old area of Nashik was both personal (we saw the house she grew up in) and academic. She manages to pass on her enthusiasm for Nashik and gives an interesting, informative tour. Highly recommended.

Elated and thankful for a detailed introduction to the city I relocated to 12 months back. Recommended for history and heritage - I finally participated in Amruta Madam's Panchvati Heritage walk after multiple rescheduling and missed opportunities from my side. The Pandav Leni walk (with another noble guide and expert) and the Panchvati Walk (by Amruta Madam) helped me connect the dots and get an insightful sense of the history and heritage of our lovely city Nashik (which is not only the wine capital but has a lot to offer for the seekers of history and mythology). Amruta Madam is born and brought up in Panchvati (and has lived across various cities) and she gives her heart and soul to help us see Panchvati through the eyes of a local. She makes special efforts to help us understand Nashik holistically (mythology and pragmatic commerce intertwined). For a receptive mind and a seeker/student of history and heritage, this will be a memorable experience and is highly recommended.
And if you wish to connect the dots better and learn the lessons from the history of our country, allow me to recommend a visit to the marvelous Pandav Leni with an expert guide. May the divine spirit guide us to the answers we seek. In divine friendship, best regards - Nitin

Nashik Heritage Trails with Amrita ! - Our guide was Amrita of Nasik heritage Trails. She was extremely knowledgeable of the local history and has grown up in Panchavati. She took us around Kalaram temple, also Goraram, Na Ro Shanker Shiva temple, the Godavari river bank, Rama kund. We got to see a lot of old buildings, courtyards and even an astrologer’s Lane! We then stopped for tea and “ Misal Pav” which is a spicy snack served with home baked bread. Amrita also took us to the Archaeological museum, and the Saraf market. She didn’t rush us at all and spent an hour over the planned 2 hour tour! We thank her for that

A special walk with a local - My son (teen) and I had a great morning with Amrita as we walked through historical places of interest in old Nashik. She was extremely knowledgeable and understanding the stories behind all the places and the things we saw made the walk so much more meaningful and personal. We highly recommend this experience to anyone who is looking for something much more than another tourist activity. Thank you!

Superb storytelling - an absolute must-do for a trip to Nashik - The heritage walk in old Nashik starts off at the Kalaram temple, and winds around the small by-lanes. Almost every old structure has a history—an interesting one in many cases. On the walk, we saw 300+ year old murals, saw a Peshwa structure, art deco buildings, and lots of temples. We also learned about interesting cultural events that take place in the most unassuming, unexpected areas.
The walking tour is not difficult or strenuous, but older folk and those with knee issues may struggle with the temple steps.
That's the practical information out of the way.
Amrita is the founder and guide for Nashik Heritage Trails. She's grown up in the area, and her love and passion for its stories shine through vividly. She deftly weaves history with mythology and lore, pointing out interesting titbits like stonework details and motifs in most heritage structures.
Each of the places she chooses to speak about is different, yet interconnected. Ultimately, you are left with a sense of Nashik's history as a whole, rather than a timeline. Amrita's talk draws connections between history, geography, religion, politics, culture, and even people. It was an absorbing experience.
What I personally loved about the walk was her intellectual honesty. Many times during the walk, she explained her theories about the structures. In some cases, these tallied with what academicians or historians have said; in others, her opinion diverged. It was refreshing to meet someone who was upfront about that, even as she explained her logic. (I'm inclined to agree with whatever conclusions she's drawn, just to be clear.)
In case it isn't blindingly obvious from what I've written above, I highly highly recommend this tour. I wasn't expecting a great deal, but was completely blown away. Amrita is a fantastic storyteller and guide, and this experience was worth every cent.

Unforgettable experience! - The Nashik Heritage Walk was a wonderful opportunity to get to know the history and fun facts about Nashik which ended with a delicious misal at a 70-year old small eating joint. Right from the beginning at Kalaram temple, Amrita had us in awe of the rich history of the city entwined with mythology and trade routes. The architecture of the city spoke to us through Amrita telling us stories about people through the ages. The unbelievable facts about Holi celebration were a delight! Anyone visiting Nashik must go on the Heritage trail with Amrita. An unforgettable experience which we would love to repeat! 😃

Discovering the past: The Nashik Heritage Trail is a must-do - It was a fantastic experience to be on Amrita maam's heritage trail through old Nashik and Panchwati. I felt transported back to Nashik's history, culture, and traditions. Even though I am a local from Nashik, I was unaware of the history of some of the sites. Nashik Heritage Trail is a must-visit for anyone seeking to delve into the rich tapestry of Indian history and culture.
