Thoughtful - He made me think. He had an interesting way of presenting the material with a thought provoking set up calling for responses to a statement or a question and then the answer.

We recommend the Journey to Jubilee tour - We'd heard they added a tour covering the experience of enslavement and that was of interest to us, probably wouldn't have visited Belle Meade otherwise. I guess the tour started in 2019. We thought it was well done. Our interpreter was personable, dealt with the topic with sensitivity and historical accuracy. When he expressed his opinion he was super clear it was his opinion. We also experienced the slavery tour at the Hermitage, and it was not as good in our opinion (though it was cool that it was from a horse drawn wagon).

Journey to Jubilee tour. - Our guide did a great job making us really think about slavery and how it is still affects peoples lives. I just wish that I wasn't the only one asking questions & answering Dan's questions.

Important history to be remembered! - Great presentation by the tour guide. We loved the interesting facts that were presented. We felt comfortable listening to part of the presentation while we were in familiar furnishings from the past in the kitchen setting. The final highlight was a tour through the Carriage House. The wine tasting was a great touch!

Must see when in... - Must see when in Nashville area. This guided tour shares about the journey of enslaved people to freedom. Being able to see and "feel" the housing left us speechless. More experiences like this need to be shared so people can continue to learn our nations history.

Bourbon, Wine, and History--well rounded experience! - We participated in the Wine and Bourbon experience with food pairings, which was both enjoyable and very informative for folks at all levels of wine/bourbon preference. Our sommelier Macon was impressive in her knowledge of wine and bourbon, her ability to teach us, and the way she tied the information back to Belle Meade and the South. We continued our experience with the Journey to Jubilee tour led by Tom. For a difficult topic and conversation, the tour was informative, upbeat, and comfortable. More than other general tours of the grounds, this tour took a deep dive into the lives of the enslaved people at Belle Meade and their important contributions to the plantation. We ended at the winery, where we made several purchases! Also there were multiple shops on site--something for everyone!

Good discussion of slavery. - There was actually very little to see. Had visited one other plantation elsewhere with a self guided audio tour that had much more visual impact. This tour involved more discussion of slavery and the history of this plantation. Guide was excellent just not much to see.
