Unprofessional unsafe and not relaxing - Just a disorganized very rushed tour from the start and I feel it was unsafe. Suggest putting walking directions to the actual meet up point. Once at the meet up point maybe have a big sign that says welcome and the name of the tour, chairs for tour ppl to sit at would be a nice bonus. The restaurant didn’t really want us taking up seats so it was awkward. Boat ride was nice for ppl in front of but really loud for ppl in back with blasting music. When we stopped at snorkeling spot they asked if anyone needed snorkeling gear? It just seemed like they felt bothered they had to get it out? No one had gear —we were all on small cruise ship cabins who brings gear? Then without explanation or questions they pretty much say jump off the boat. Our 2 teen aged kids as ourselves are good swimmers and we had snorkeled a few days earlier.. but jumping off in water over our heads adjusting equipment new to us in waves was really poor judgment on the part of the guide…who only offered to throw in life jackets after we asked. Once we were in water he told us we didn’t need them because he didn’t need them and the water would hold us up. What he doesn’t factor in is as a parent you don’t just float and leave your kids to figure it out. If anything goes wrong can you help them? So we tried to put on the jackets while half adjusting the equipment. Then we hear “ over here follow me” we have no idea if that is our guide or not- there were several in the water and we were never told the plan to follow anyone ahead of time. We rushed thru a very very shallow reef.. I was the one to warn both my kids NOT to put their feet down ( this was like 2 or 3ft deep with big coral poking up) one kid on our trip didn’t get told this and sliced open his foot on the coral. The guide told him it would make a good story. I think it was the result of hurry thru, drop ppl off get it done and on to the next. We felt rushed and disappointed. A few simple directions and instructions ahead of time could have made this an enjoyable trip. 1. Here’s your snorkels does anyone need help with them? a brief demo and advice to get them adjusted before jumping in. 2. The water will hold you up but if you feel more comfortable we have life jackets we suggest you put them on your stomachs and float on them but if you are not a strong swimmer please put them on before you enter the water and secure them. You will still be able to see the reef on top of the water. 3. Caution ppl how close the coral is how sharp and delicate it is and swim to a higher spot if you feel it’s close. Suggesting this for future families. We feel our money was wasted and we didn’t even enjoy the coral or fish.
