We start here right outside the museum with friendly introductions and a brief explanation about how The Bahamas in particularly Nassau was established.
- Pompey Museum of Slavery & Emancipation - Guide will explain the history of the Museum and give a brief highlight of what to expect inside for anyone wanting to further explore. There is an admission fee.
- Christ Church Cathedral - Tour the “always perfect temperature” hand carved limestone interior of an 1800s church frequented by the Royals.
- Bay Street - We will walk along Bay Street pointing out recommended must see food and drink venues for later plans
- Parliament Square - Here we will discuss The Bahamas’ rise to independence and detail the governmental structure.
- Fort Fincastle - Great mini uncrowded souvenir shopping experience with local vendors while learning about the history of the Fort and it’s connection to the Queen’s Staircase. There is a $3 fee per person to tour the interior of the Fort.
- Queen’s Staircase - Excellent photo opportunity with a well preserved 1700s hand carved stone passage and staircase as your backdrop.
- Graycliff Heritage Village - Learn about the rich history of the legendary GrayCliff property involving Al Capone, war and pirates. Great photo opportunity. Then head to the GrayCliff Chocolatier to sample locally made Bahamian chocolate.
- John Watling’s Distillery - Sample local rums and tour distillery grounds.
