Highlights
  • Khari Baoli - At 9:30 AM, we will pick you up from your hotel in Delhi and head to Old Delhi. We’ll leave the car a short distance from the bustling area and take a Bicycle Rickshaw to the Spice Market. Operating since the Mughal era, this is the largest spice market in Asia and is full of surprises. This medieval market is lively with locals and tourists, filled with the sound of multilingual chatter. We’ll visit a renowned and historic spice depot/storehouse for a briefing on many famous Indian spices. You’ll be amazed to learn how much more you pay for some everyday spices in your home country. Here, you can purchase your favorite spices at very economical prices. Take your time to learn about the spices, their uses, and other important information. The aroma of the spices will linger in your memory long after you leave.
  • Chandni Chowk - Chandni Chowk, or Moonlight Square, dates back to the Mughal era and remains one of the oldest commercial hubs in Old Delhi. You can see the magnificent Red Fort at its eastern end. The market was envisioned by the daughter of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century. It was once divided by a beautiful canal (now closed) that reflected the moonlight. Enjoy walking through its colorful markets, admiring traditional wares, textiles, and ethnic handmade clothing.
  • Friday Mosque (Jama Masjid) - Soon, you’ll see the grand Jama Masjid, a 400-year-old Mughal masterpiece. Those interested in visiting are welcome to join by paying the required entry fee. Also known as the Friday Mosque, it can hold 25,000 devotees at once. Explore its sacred corners and enjoy the stunning views of Old Delhi from its elevated platform.

calm guide among the noisy traffic and crowds - I spent 2 days in Delhi on my own, but only after meeting "Jai", I finally found peace amidst the chaotic city. I took the Old Delhi walk and temples run with Jai and spicedup the walk by buying few spices in the spice market area.
