Spanning over 6,000 acres and hosting more than 29,000, it’s believed to be a haven for over 40 species of migratory and 85 native bird species. The mangrove woodlands along the trail are excellent spots for spotting birds, juvenile crocodiles, and fiddler crabs.

Muthurajawela Marsh, also known as the ‘Swamp of Royal Treasure,’ is a habitat for diverse co-dependent plant and animal life.
