- Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project - The first stop is the Sea Turtle Conservation Project in Kosgoda. Here, you can observe the conservation efforts for sea turtles and learn about their activities. You’ll also see the hatchery program designed to safely hatch eggs before releasing the turtles into the sea.
- Madu Ganga Biodiversity Area - Next, you’ll head to Balapitiya for a boat safari on the Madu Ganga river, which flows through marshlands covered by mangrove forests. You’ll likely spot wild boars, monkeys, and squirrels, along with over 100 species of birds, including cormorants and kingfishers.
- Ariyapala Mask Museum - After the boat safari, visit the Mask Museum in Ambalangoda. This museum offers insights into traditional Sri Lankan masks and their meanings.
- Community Tsunami Museum - The next stop is the Tsunami photo museum in Hikkaduwa, which features photos and memorabilia from the 2004 Tsunami victims.
Afterward, you’ll head straight to Galle and stop at a local restaurant for lunch (at your own expense).
- Galle Fort - Post-lunch, you’ll explore Galle Fort. Originally built by the Portuguese and later fortified by the Dutch, the fort is situated on a rocky peninsula surrounded by the sea on three sides. Just past the entrance, you’ll see the front wall and a clock tower. The Galle International Cricket Stadium is also visible from here.
At the southernmost end, you’ll find Flag Rock, once a Portuguese bastion and now a popular spot where locals dive into the water for tips from tourists. Nearby is the Lighthouse, built in 1938, offering a full view of ships entering Galle harbor.
You’ll also visit the Maritime Archaeology Museum, Dutch Reformed Church, and Galle National Museum.
The tour concludes with a transfer back to Negombo, where you’ll be safely dropped off at your hotel.
