Geragama Tea Factory - Centrally located between Colombo and the tea-growing regions, Kandy became synonymous with tea production during British rule. As the second-largest city in Sri Lanka, Kandy was a key administrative center for the tea industry, facilitated by the British-built railway. By the late 19th century, Kandy was so popular with tea planters and their families that two grand hotels, the Hotel Suisse and the Queen’s Hotel, were established. Tea production has continued to draw tourists to Kandy for over two centuries. A visit to the Kadugannawa tea factory near Kandy offers insights into tea cultivation, production, and distribution.

Galbokka Sea Turtle Hatchery - Turtles, or chelonians, are reptiles characterized by a bony shell developed from their ribs, acting as a shield. This ancient group evolved over 220 million years ago. The order Chelonii, also known as Testudines, includes turtles, tortoises, and terrapins.
