Amazing Spooners tunnel cycle - Our experience with The Gentle Cycling Company's Spooners Tunnel self-guided tour was exceptional, thanks to Chris and Bernie. They provided us with excellent bikes and clear route instructions, making the journey through New Zealand's longest disused railway tunnel truly unforgettable. Chris’s local knowledge on the shuttle up there was very informative, ensuring we knew where to stop for pies and scones. For anyone visiting Nelson, I highly recommend this tour with The Gentle Cycling Company—it's a perfect way to explore the Nelson area at your own pace.

Cycling in Northeast New Zealand - We found this bicycle tour to be extraordinary. Bernie, Chris and Bridget were very helpful. They gave us great flexibility on picking up the bikes and also dropping them off a bit late. We found that the bikes were in great shape. We bite for two days and enjoyed the coastal route to rabbit Island to be very much fun. However, the trip to Spooner tunnel was extraordinary. We were climbing a hill. We were very glad to be using E bikes for this trip I would highly recommend you use gentle cycling company for your experience in the Nelson area. There’s no better way to see this part of New Zealand then on a bike. We were in New Zealand for two weeks. We found this to be our best adventure.

Great experience - Was as good as I hoped. Bike was a bit heavier than I’m used to but did the job. Staff very helpful and cheerful. I made an error in my booking but they moved the date no problem

Beautiful coastal cycling - Great cycing adventure on comfy e-bikes around the Waimea Inlet and it’s saltmarsh wetlands and resident shorebirds - topped off by great wines at Seifried estate and retro river ferry ride to lunch at Mapua - and highly recommend the shuttle back to Nelson by Chris

Richmond to Mapua family ride - Bernadette and Chris could not have been more helpful. They accommodated our changing plans the week prior and updated arrangements efficiently, not even requiring a deposit. All shapes and sizes, we were supplied well fitted bikes delivered to the Richmond Aquatic Centre car park and cycled through to the Rabbit Island ferry link to Mapua. The Waimea estuary ride at high tide is particularly uplifting. Thank you so much Bernie and Chris, dealing with us mainly online or by phone. If you are at the Tahunanui camping ground it would be so very easy to sort a cycle trip at their prefab there and make amazing memories on the Nelson cycleways for a very reasonable outlay. Don't miss the opportunity!

Best in Nelson! AMAZING! - Amazing experience! My wife and I are on our honeymoon. Chris setup an e-bike for my wife, picked us up and brought us to the coastal access point of the Great Taste trail. We cycled all day. Chris then picked us up once we’d gone as far as we could go on the trail and brought us back. One of the best experiences ever on a bike from someone that rides nearly every day of the year back in the states. 10 / 10 recommend

Bikes Beers and great fun! - A great day out! We talked to Bernie about the ride before booking and she was really helpful explaining the type of bikes and terrain. Spent a bit more time next to busy roads than we'd have liked, but overall a great experience. The bikes were well maintained and good quality Bernie and her team were great.
